Good US Scope?

I was looking into these Osprey International scopes until I read a bunch of stuff here and elsewhere regarding how easy it is to break them. It seemed like more people were angry it was made in China, but I'll take a thousand screaming angry American's words for it.

So who here in the states makes a reliable, durable scope that has 3-9x42 power? I'm going to be using this for a SU-16c, which see's mostly range action.

Zeiss 6.5-20x Conquest is really nice piece of equipment.

The top rated scope glass is ED (extreme low dispersion) glass used in medical equipment out of Japan. Not sure of other glass sources.

Higher end Burris scopes are assembled in US.
