Goodby R51 hello R1

Remington wasted no time in sending me a new R1-1911 to replace the R51 that I returned in August of this year. My information and request was faxed in on November 20th and the R1 arrived today, Dec 3rd.

Good news, for sure.
The R1 is a fine pistol.
It is capable of shooting with guns costing twice as much

For all of Remington's many quality woes, the R1 seems to have been done right. I very much liked both the blue and stainless models I held, both seemed well-executed.

I didn't realize they were doing that. I imagine quite a few folks at Remington lost their jobs over the R51 snafu.
