I got in a number of different ammo for my .22 so I tested them with my Ruger Mark IV 22/45 and a 10 inch barrel to see if they would function and what kind of groups I would get.

I shot the 22/45 with the stock barrel first and found that it had no problems with CCI-SV, Blazers, 40 grain Hollow Point Mini Mags and Velocitors. I was curious to see how well the hollow points work and I'm pleased to say I had no problems in either the Lite or with the 10 inch barrel on the 22/45.

Velocitors were a little disappointing with groups in the 1.5 to 2 inch vertical strings but .5 in windage problems. SV were the real winner, I only shot at 25 yards at my local indoor range and they stayed into .5 inches. I cheated because I put a 3 X 9 scope on the 10 incher for fun. That's going to be a bench gun for me. If I still hunted it would be my choice.

Yup! When you can get those again, I recommend stocking up. I have two older .22's - a Hi-Standard Jam-O-Matic Model 101 and a Colt Woodsman - that only work with standard velocity ammo. With SV's they're both 100% reliable and I get accuracy like you're saying when I have the right glasses on and can see the sights. ;)

Nice pistol you have there and good times with it. :)

I spy the Victory trigger as well. What about the innards, are they also upgraded?
Volquartsen. I also picked up a 5.5 inch target barrel. Look in their Bargain Bin every once in a while for a great deal. The 10 inch was $100 including shipping.
The 5.5 can be had for $25 without sights or $45 with sight and plastic box.

I did the opposite for my blued Mk IV, I bought the 10” from Buds then bought the 5.5” from Volquartsen :).

I also did the Volquartsen accurizing treatment on the grip frame and added their extractors to all of my Ruger auto pistols (and both 10/22’s).

The only funky things about ordering the uppers from Volquartsen is a) they come without a bolt so you may want to buy a second one if you don’t want to keep swapping, and b) they’re serialized so they have to go to an FFL... which means a bit more $$ for the transfer fee and maybe a waiting period if your State has one.

Other than these minor inconveniences, they’re a great deal!

Stay safe.
