I always try to take a backup gun with me to the range for practice and matches. I currently use a Volquartsen Black Mamba which is an upgraded Mark IV 22/45 Lite with VQ LLV-4 top end. All the internals are VQ as well.
My backup is a Mark IV 22/45 Lite with a few modifications. I didn't opt for the LLV barrel but everything is VQ except the compensator from Carolina Crusher. This gun feels mostly like the Mamba but has 2 inches shorter. I'm a little more accurate with the Mamba but for Steel Challenge matches it's not that important.
I have a green fiber optic front sight and standard Ruger rear sight. StonerCNC.Com grips, Striplin Thumb Rest and Cornerstone extended safety with a VQ extended mag release. VQ bolt ends the modifications.
Trigger pull on both guns average 1.7 pounds after 10 pulls on my Lyman Digital Scale.
