I suppose many here are already aware of the availability of Ruger Mark IV uppers available from Volquartsen Custom in their "Closeout" section. Ruger and VC have made some sort of deal whereby VC gets assembled Ruger Mark IV 22/45 pistols and then uses the grip frames for their Black Mamba pistols they produce. These uppers can be a real bargain if you get to snag one at from $25.00 to $40.00 per, plus shipping. Some are available with a nice "lunch-box" to carry toasted ham/cheese or egg salad sandwiches to work in:

And due to the expert machining done by Ruger, these uppers will interchange with the Mark IV grip frames perfectly, so one can have an upper with sights, and then swap it out for an upper with optics.

Thank you, SGW, just ordered a back up and added an extractor for my BuckMark to boot! Now I’ve got to find a Mk IV to make use of it but I suspect that this purchase will make it a more expedient quest. :D

The only bummer, and I mean THE only bummer, is the uppers are the serialized part… so I had to do the CA 10-day wait at my FFL when I bought it .

Other than that these are fantastic bargains .

Stay safe.

I took advantage of the Volquartsen Bargain Bin for a 5.5inch and a 10 inch barrel. They really make the gun feel different. I still like the original Lite barrel best but the 5.5, being a little heavier doesn't need a compensator on it and shoots equally as well as the 4.5.

The 10 inch is a definite bench gun, too heavy for me to hold up and be steady with. I like the sights that came with it but mounted a 2X9 variable scope on it. Wow does that shoot nice.
