Great Day At the Range!

Hello...
I'm on vacation in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Went to a great range today. I took my Smith and Wesson 411 and my Ruger Mark IV Standard. Had an issue with my 411 after 100 rounds, so I switched to my Ruger. I'm amazed at how accurate it is with Federal Bulk Ammo. Ringing an 8 inch gong at 50 yards all day long! So much fun. I was the only one there. Range is in a beautiful pine forest. Nice and cool temps. I live for range time like that. Going again tomorrow before I hit the beach and get even more sunburned. On a side note, I've got to fish everyday this week with my kids, too. We haven't caught a single thing, but it's heaven. And a deer outside my cottage yesterday morning!

Thanks for sharing. Sounds pretty nice. I've never made it up there as an adult, but I'm from the sault tribe of Chippewa Indians. We went up there when I was real little but I don't remember much.
Seen your other thread about the problems with your smith, sorry I can't offer any advice there. I had a 4006 for a while and I regret selling it. It wasn't glamorous but it was accurate and reliable.

I'm enjoying being a dad myself. Got a 2 year old. I'm looking forward to camping and fishing and shooting of course.

I just came back from the range. 50 yards standing with my Ruger Mark IV Standard 6 inch. Federal 550 round bulk 36 grain hollow points. My eyes suck. Oh well, great fun.

I just got schooled on where I actually was. I stated I was in the upper peninsula. I didn't know that was the separate, more northern part of Michigan. I was 3/4 of the way up the western portion of Michigan, not the upper peninsula. My neighbor pointed that out to me. Sorry I'm a moron.
