Grips for a S&W mod 66?

Did the S&W mod 66(no dash) come from the factory with Pachmyer rubber grips or wood grips?

Wood stocks. The 4 and 6 inch version had the same oversized target stocks use on K-frame target models. the shorter barreled ones had regular service/magna stocks. Checkered walnut was standard, but uncheckered styles made from fancy woods were available as (usually) an extra-cost option.

These wood stocks were individually fit to each frame, and were serial numbered to match it. The wood slabs were cut from a larger piece so that the grain would match on each side.

Don't think they do that anymore....

I'm sure modern grips are formed from a single piece of acrylic so the molded checkering matches.
