I'm looking for some rubber grips for my M36 2".I would like some bigger than the factory wood grips. But not so big as taking away from concealment.I would be open to some wood grips.

Check Hogue , Pachmayer Altamont sold MidwayUSA and eBay . As for wood grips had Altamont Bateleurs on my Model 60 very comfortable OWB and IWB holsters

Ill second the factory stocks and the T- grip. If you don't want to wait for Tyler, or cant find one, BK grips has a good version of it, reasonably priced and usually quick to ship.

This is one of the BK T- grips. Its on a K frame but you get the idea. Fills the spot that needs filled, but doesn't take away from keeping the gun small and concealable. Gives a good, comfortable, and very shootable grip too.

I’d add a vote for the BK Grips or Tyler grip adapters, as well, with the caveat being that my experience with them so far has been with K- and N-frame sized guns.

The only reason I haven’t gone that route on this 642 is that this Hogue unit shown here works so well for me for both shooting and pocket carry. I appreciate the lack of a grip screw, which was constantly rusting (thanks to sweating while pocket-carrying) with a previous grip I’d used.

Another vote for grip adapters. "Magna" style grips with adapters are among my favorites.

I went with Altamonts on my 340PD.

I generally don't like rubber grips on a CCW gun, as they tend to hang on to clothes and call attention to themselves. Harder rubber/plastic solves the trouble, but then you might as well use wood...

My 442 has factory Uncle Mike’s boot grips. My model 36 has the factory Magnas or Service Panels with a BK grip adapter.

I have tried other grips on these two J frames, but ended up back with factory grips plus the BK adapter.

Now this photo shows my model 36 with a Hogue Monogrip next to the factory grip for a size comparison.

I installed the Monogrip to my gun. It looked odd but felt great in my hands. It wasn’t good for concealability.

I removed the Monogrip and reinstalled the factory grip with the BK adapter.

This is a photo of my model 63 with the factory grip. I thought I would like this grip, but I do not. It’s too narrow at the bottom.

I ended up putting the Monogrip on the 63 because it’s a gun I wear on my hip in the open. I don’t try to conceal it.
The Monogrip is better for my grip and helps my accuracy with this gun when plinking.

I tried some other grips for my .38 Spl carry J frames but ended up back with factory grips in the end. Unfortunately I don’t have photos of the other grips I tried, but they were cheaply knock-offs I found on eBay.

EDIT: It took me a few minutes but I found a shot of my old model 63 Pro. I loved the grips on this gun. I may try to get some from Altamont in the future. They call these “Altai” grips. For a long time all they had were smooth uncheckered grips. These were nice grips.
