I always wonder how people come by the guns they get. Some people at work know that I am into guns, and tell me about guns for sale. I watch craigslist, even though guns are not supposed to be sold on there, you see a few. When I have time I try to hit the yard sales, bought a remington 552 like that. Have bought a few at estate auctions, you can find a good deal, or they may go for two prices, you never know. I also do what I call the gun shop cruise. You know, take a few hours, hit a few shops, see what they got. Sometimes if I really feel like blowing a day, or at least the whole afternoon, I drive to another town and check the shops there. I guess everyone does this stuff. It is always fun to find a new shop to explore. They all have a little different character to them. One will be nothing but black rifles and Glocks and tactical stuff, almost an armory feel. Another will have nothing but blue steel and walnut, taxidermy everywhere, and a bunch of geezers hanging about. Then there are the pawn shops, just a pile of stuff in a room for sale. It always gives me a thrill when there is an old Smith .38 on top of the pile, bought my model 10, 15, and 17 in a pawn shop. This is where the fine art of haggling is learned. Anybody else got any favorite haunts when in search of new toys and trinkets?
