Gun Show Beef

I purchased two firarms at this past Hampton convention center show and so did my father. I was able to negotiate the prices on the pistol and shotgun I picked up and my father was not able to haggle the prices on the two pistols he picked up. I enjoy going and have always seemed to find good vendors to deal with. I guess that I will just count myself as fortunate.

I got a LNB Colt Commander made in 1979 at the Gun Show in Austin this past weekend. Paid $800. for it I thought an OK deal for a like new older Colt, also brought 200 rounds of ammo and wish I could have got some more but they were sold out. Got LOTS of beef jerkey that my son and his troopers in IRAQ seeem to favor. This past show in Austin was one of their better ones I thought an improvement over the past months. Hope they continue to get better. Glad to support Gun shows in this Gun hatein lefty town.:D

There are some good gun shows here in Western Washington. The Washington Arms Collectors put on the shows with the most floor space and selection, even an area for the Saturday-only vendors. Of course ther are the non-firearms related tables, but I bypass those all too quickly.

A smaller show is put on by Falcon Productions, and centers in the northern reaches of Puget Sound. Fair shows, but some times you find something that just 'whispers' to you (like a Montgomery Ward Western Field No 5 .22lr pistol with original box, holster, and owner's manual for $150, later tracked it down to being made by Unique in France, manufacture date 1954).

There's smaller shows, but with the current price of gas going down (but not fast enough) I may not get to one of those for a while.
