Gun Shows

I don't miss gun shows at all. Gun prices are high. Ammo prices are high. I'll go if I'm bored an have nothing to do, but if I see something I like, I leave the show and go to my LGS or even Academy for a better price and service, should there be any problems.
Don't forget the people who don't have good personal hygiene.

As part of a buying strategy at gun shows, I've seen recommendations to dress in old clothes, not shave, and not bathe for a few days before going to the show. This the opposite of an ostentatious display of wealth, which would obviously weaken your bargaining position. The idea is to have the seller take pity on you, and/or want to get rid of you as soon as possible.

Tampa Gunshow is this weekend. Was on the fence about going. No CWP yet so id be buying ammo or magazines and just window shopping for military surplus the next time around. Looking on their Facebook posts a few hours after opening already at capacity with an hours wait at the door. I'm sure the vendors will clear out with the panic buying but I'm glad I'll pass this weekend

I haven't done this myself, but apparently lots of others are following this advice.
LoL! Been downwind of those folks wondering which concession stand was serving fried onions . . .

Luck has always seemed to treat me better than scheming. And, in all fairness, most of my clothes have always been "old" [:)] (Not that I got any better deal browsing in uniform, either.)

R K Gunshows is resuming Springfield, Missouri shows next weekend (June 27, 28) and they put on big shows. Before the virus happened there were about 150-200 exhibitors and twice that many tables, filling both exhibition rooms at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. I may go to to renew acquaintance with a few fellows I’ve dealt with in the past, and let them tempt me. $10 gate fee with the postcard $2 discount for being a regular! Whether I go or not, I’m glad they are back.

We have a show here in Mountain Home July 11th and 12th. I guess I'll work it just because a friend had a stroke and asked me to man his tables. I will try to get a couple of cases of ammo for it.
