Well, I'll admit that I carry to compensate. I'm 57 years old, and pretty much a worn out body. I know damned well that if it comes down to it and some young punk decides to separate me and my money, and doesn't want a living witness to the crime, I'm not tough enough anymore to whomp his butt, and avoid leaving my wife a widow. I intend to return home as many times as I can. So, if that makes me "weak", well, so be it.
I've been asked if carrying a firearm for self defense makes me feel like a "big man." I'll tell 'em straight out that it doesn't make me feel anything other than PREPARED.
Some folks who don't like guns are willing to stoop to the lowest level to insult a gun owner. Just leave them alone. I had an anti-gun guy ask me if I saw him being robbed, if I would come to his defense. I told him I wouldn't want to alarm him, or damage his sensitive psyche, I'd simply call 911 for him, since in his opinion, the police are tasked with protecting all civilians. I even gave him the links to several court decisions that ruled that cops are not responsible to protect citizens.
He saw that idiotic slogan on cop cars that say "To Protect and To Serve." Some folks you just can't reach!
