I decided to fess up to my inner comic geek and share some of the toys and inspiration for my firearm hobby.

My long term goal is to own a representative of each type of firearm pictured in the punisher armory series (as close as I can legally get) along with a few of the armory insert guns from the regular comic book.

A good place to start is with my American 180.

This is a semi auto version of the gun pictured in the punisher armory number 4 page 31.

Based on Casull's design and adapted for full auto riot control in the 60's, the semi auto American 180 is One of the top 10 guns of all time for dealing with the zombie Apocalypse

I was able to shoot a full auto version of this rifle way back in the 1980s when I was living in Houston TX. I didn't like it. The magazine is heavy and as it is positioned in the front of the receiver it makes the weapon very muzzle heavy.

Perhaps you would like a semi auto version of it but I would rather have a dressed up 10/22 instead.

Home Made Browning 1919A4.... Punisher Armory issue 5, page 13

You know having one of these doesn't mean I don't ALSO have a dressed up 10/22 or two ;)

I'm a huge 10/22 fan.... they are good, practical, reliable guns.

But the AM 180 is one heck of a novelty.

Wow. That comic series takes me back... it was one of my favorites too. (20 years already???)

It is also probably responsible for some of my preferances in firearms now (1911's, 357s for room clearing, etc.)

But the sheer number of firearms in that collection...ambitious project.

Good Luck!

I haven't watched your vids yet but I like the idea of a themed collection. I always saw the Armory comics for sale, but I didn't get into the Punisher until "War Zone".

That comic was quite influentual on my young mind as well.
I actually had one...a .357 rossi wheelgun, stainless, with a 2" comped barrel. It was a really good shooter and my dad wanted to keep it.

Russian knife

I bought one of those "ballistic knives" back a "few" years ago.

Shortly after possession was banned, but I was an LEO so I kept mine and used it to teach at the academy.

I sold it when I left the job,it was a joke = unless your standing close.

I am a fan of the Punisher too. (The MAX titles by Garth Ennis especially!) Frank consistently Vietnam-era weapons: 1911s, M-14s, AK-47s and the M-60. At some point, he's been drawn with darn near everything but the usual weapons of choice are above.

Huge Punisher comic fan here too. I had at least the first four Armory books.

Good luck finding some of those guns. Oh and I think he had a ultralight plane too. :what:

The one that sticks out to me was this H&K special operations gun that was designed to fire underwater and was electronically primed.

I believe it was this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_&_Koch_P11

One of the other ones that sticks out in my mind was his training room where he had put Teflon on the floor and had a man-sized punching bag and said he worked out on the slick surface to learn to keep his balance. I thought that was an interesting 'trick'.

Deli sandwich gun?.....

Any forum members recall Frank Castle's "Deli Gun"?
He took a New York bagel(of course, maybe a H&H, ;) ) hollowed it out and fit a small pocket pistol(.32acp or .380acp) around the fillings(cheese, meat, tomatoes, onions, etc).
That was in a Punisher Armory comic book.
The 1980s Castle used a lot of Uzi SMGs, in the 1990s, Frank upgraded to the HK MP5s/MP5Ks. In the 2000s, it was a M4 or M4 with a 40mm grenade launcher.

I remember that gun, it was an intertec pro-tec derringer (32 acp If i recall correctly)

he had it in a hollowed out kaiser roll....

Anyone got an intertec they want to sell me ;)

Great idea for a hobby and thanks for posting this! The Punisher comics I had growing up were all 1980's books and Castle's inventory was all over the place, from huge hand cannon revolvers (to take out an engine block on a car) to electric gatling guns mounted on robots.

Lots of good memories being brought up here. (And for the record there has only been ONE Punisher movie, and that was with Thomas Jane playing the lead role)

I remember the sawed off side by side he used. When the time is right I will have one of those in my safe.

Deli Gun; Captain America: The Winter Soldier.....

The same small .32acp pistol also called the Intratec was used(or was listed as movie prop) in the feature film; Captain America, The Winter Soldier, www.imfdb.org . I think it was only of the small guns, the "Winter Soldier" toted. ;)
He had a few guns all around his outfit & I don't think he pulled out all of them.

Would have been a lot better if Tom Jane was taller, and could act, and it wasn't filmed in Tampa...

War Zone was better IMO. It was a lot darker, and actually looked like NYC, no palm trees. Ray Stevenson actually looked the part. At 6'3" and 200lbs, he's a big dude and looks intimidating. Tom Jane is about 5'11"/175lbs. Little things like that matter to me. But to be fair, saying "War Zone is better" is like saying someone is smarter than Forrest Gump - just because its better, doesn't mean its good...

I think if they used the Welcome Back Frank storyline in the latest movie with Ray Stevenson it would have been a great movie.

If you guys are Punisher fans you should read Thunderbolts. At a shooting scene investigators were able to implicate the Punisher due to his use of Buffalo Bore ammo.
