H&K 9MM PISTOLE

No joke. I bought my mk23 because I grew up playing rainbow six.

I still would buy another in 10mm though. And id think its a perfect platform.

I have always been a bit put off by that on the USP. And then on top of that they want 40-50 bucks for an all polymer mag...... all HK parts are stupid high. And usually not available from HK nor HKparts. They very rarely break though. Excellent guns but with some of the worst triggers ever put on a handgun. (Just the USP. Not much experience with the others)

I like HK guns. I really do. But I like many other brands far better. Doubtful you find many people that say they aren't great guns though. They are well built

Can’t argue about the DA trigger on the USP not being ideal. Though with the USP you have options. You can carry a variant 1 DA/SA USP cocked and locked w/o doing anything or you can change the trigger out. I’m using the LEM trigger which gives me a light DAO with a short reset. Long pull but light on the first shot, short trigger reset every subsequent shot. You can add a manual safety if you choose to but it isn’t stock on the LEM.

I have 2 USPs. A full size and a USP Compact. I find the Compact to be very well balanced, and the full size to be just that... full sized. It's a big pistol. That being said, I don't think either of these guns have ever malfunctioned. Period. If I had to stake my life on the handgun functioning, either one of these guns would be a good choice. I view them as "battlefield weapons" though. They're not target guns. The triggers feel spongy to me, but boy do they work well. I rarely shoot the full size USP, but I routinely take the Compact out just to stay familiar. I think you almost always get what you pay for, but in the case of an HK, you get the quality build but you have to realize what you're buying and put a value on it. For a target gun... way too expensive because that's not what it is. For personal protection... or home protection, or whatever... it's worth every penny.
I have a P30 and a P30SK and I have the identical sentiments. I rotate the P30SK with my Sig P365 as my EDC...the P30 is my nightstand gun and the one I use for competition because of the 17 shot capacity.

I have several models of HK in 9 mm and .45. I have yet to have a problem with any of mine over the past 20+ years. I agree with all of the positive comments in this thread. To repeat some of the points: quality engineering with no compromise to save on production cost ( as far as I am able to tell), easy to maintain, some models have interchangeable grip panels, certain models serve as excellent suppressor hosts, accurate , durable, reliable, and other descriptors that escape me right now . I have never questioned the value of my HK pistols. They are worth the purchase price to me.

I have two P30SK pistols, one with the V3 trigger (DA/SA) and the other with the LEM trigger. They are my primary self defense guns at present.

I prefer that the P30 series which is hammer fired versus striker fired.

They have been reliable and I like the way they shoot.

I've been lusting after H&K pistols ever since American Handgunner (I think it was) did a gorgeous spread on USPs in 1998 or so. So my first was a USP full-size in .40. I loved that pistol but couldn't balance my budget enough to keep it for long. In 2002, my income had stabilized so I got a full-size .45, which I still have. That and my Beretta 92FS (my first pistol) have survived all this time despite two-decades worth of a revolving carousel of purchases/sales.

I've also owned a USP Compact in both 9x19mm and .40. I just didn't get the same feng shui with the compacts as I did with the full-size ones. They felt odd to me, I'm not sure I can really put my finger on why. I do remember not liking the V1 setup on the compacts but I never tried the LEM. Anyway, when it comes to mid-sized pistols the Sig P229 .40 is my favorite. Although, I haven't owned a USP Compact since around 2004. Maybe I should give them another try.

The P2000 is a different pistol than the USP compact, more melted and better adapted for concealed carry. I’ve got one with the LEM trigger and can get follow up shots off very fast when compared to the full size USP (both in 9mmP).

Another advantage of the P2k is it can use any of the VP magazines from the same caliber. Just be careful slamming then in unless you have a spacer on the mag. The mag will stop on the ejector and with enough beating the ejector can get damaged.

My P30SK with a LEM trigger shoots and carries nicely. My VP9 is one of my home defense guns and also shoots well. I prefer CZ handguns overall, but I've never had an issue with my HKs.

I did get rid of a HK45 because I disliked the trigger and it no longer served any purpose. IT shot well though, but I have a much nicer 45 now. If I don't have a strong desire to shoot or handle a gun when I see it, it gets moved on.

I seem to remember that the P2000 is compatible with USP Compact magazines, but 15 minutes on Google couldn't confirm that. Does anyone know for sure? I still have a 13-round 9mm USPc mag and standard capacity mags are not easy to come by in my state.

The P7, SP5, and SP5K are beyond awesome. The polys are overpriced compared to their competition in my opinion.

The P2K is hands down my favorite HK pistil for CCW, I also own a HK45, VP9, and P30L. The P2K is "just the right size" at slightly smaller than the G19 and still has decent capacity, it also handles recoil really well.

Mine's had some work done to it by Lazy Wolf Guns, basically a reset reduction package on the light LEM trigger. I then had the slide and controls done by Robar in NP3+, and added Trijicon HDs. It started out as a .40 and I added a .357Sig barrel, which is how I carry it. The .40 barrel comes in handy for classes when I probably won't get my .357Sig brass back.

IMHO the HK DA/SA triggers kinda suck, so all of mine have been converted (by me) to LEMs. Which is my favorite defensive trigger due to the DA "two stage" take-up and the "auto decock" when you come off the trigger. The P2K and P30L have had the resets shortened as I really, really wasn't a fan of how they came from the factory.

What was he "water lock" problem about a few yrs back, several utube gods , stopped carrying them due to lockup when submerged? I was in the market for the P30 , "LEM" when they came out, but they were too much money, now H&K cut the price down to 5-600 bucks, so I am in the market again. But want the hammer fired version with the Double action setup, and long slide. There was a guy back then who had 2 of them for sale because he and his wife just didn't like them. I wish I could fin him now
