H&K Micro 9 coming...sometime.

Buckeye63
My point was a growing number of people are realizing these micro 9’s are great at being small little mouse guns that you can tuck any and everywhere and not know you are carrying. However when it comes to actually shooting high round counts through these guns it’s no fun. The compact size handgun has always been the Goldilocks of handguns, small enough to carry and big enough to fight with. Now these manufacturers are combinining the benefits of thin micros with the benefits of a compact footprint and creating the almost perfect concealabilty and shootability handgun. I think you were looking into me quoting you a little more than what it was. You were stating these micros growing up and I was stating my opinion of the why they were growing up. And asking if you shot a lot out of these little guns what part of that. I only make it to the range about twice a month anymore because of a hectic and busy schedule with work, kids, wife, and soon to be grandson. So to make up for my lack of range visits I shoot a large quantity of round per visit, usually around 400-500 rounds or so. I like to shoot my primary carry gun and whatever gun I’m using at the moment for home defense. Shooting these micro 9’s with adequate training is a bear for most people for a multitude of reasons. I have no problem putting 300 rounds through my let’s say Walther p99 or cz p01, but doing that with my hellcat becomes more of a chore instead of recreation. With these thin compacts they have basically bridged the gap.

BORING! HK is like 5 years late & $500 over priced. don’t forget, your paying for German Labor $$$

Being late isn’t going to stop me from buying one if it’s better (for me) than the other options. And the extra cost with HK also pays for more thorough R&D and better QC relative to just about every other mass-production firearms manufacturer these days. Unlike virtually every new design SIG USA has released over the last two decades, for instance, HKs don’t stumble out of the gate and require months of beta testing by early adopters before the design is made right. I don’t expect things will be any different with this pistol.

H&K have too big of a price tag for me. They seem to think that their guns are made of gold. Parts availability is terrible too.

Prices (compared to other brands) and parts availability have improved dramatically for HK in recent years. As prices on Glocks and other similar pistols have crept up in recent years, most HK models sell new for about the same price (or less) than they did 10 years ago.

There is a good reason HK is typically later to the market than some other brands. They test their products extensively prior to release, unlike some other brands (cough, SIG, Ruger, cough), who depend on consumers to be beta testers before issuing recalls or rolling updates.

I like my P365, but it doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies in terms of absolute reliability and longevity.

Long Live H&K !!! still prefer a Colt 1911

Indeed it's crazy how delusional fanboys can be.

The meme about "SIG beta testing customers" always was dumb, although I only learned just how much after I started actually making things myself.

Nobody can make a cartridge firing, self-loading gun with no issues. Not even H&K. The only difference is, H&K's early adopters are German cops. That is why you get the guns years later and with bugs worked out. But even H&K had to make revisions like adding heat insulators to P7.

The estimate of $500 is just absurd in 2023, considering the scale of Bidenflation if nothing else. I expect it come in about $800 or $900.
Agreed, though there's some regional variation to be sure. Around me all current-generation plastic guns are $550-700. The only sub-$500 guns are S&W M&P and Springfield Armory XD models that have been out a while. Sig 320s or Gen 5 Glocks are all $599.

Agreed, this is HK we are talking about.

Didn’t watch the video but from early on when the design images were let out I expected (and still kinda do) HK to go all HK and make it have a capacity of 8 or something silly compared to the competition.

Man would I love for them to find a way to make an optic ready P2000 (or even USP) but I know that’ll never happen.

I don't understand what's taking them so long. That said, they promised a plate for SFP9 in the future.

By the way, observe how P365 derivatives encroach on P320 and essentially supplanted it everywhere except military. I would not be too surprised if HK pulled that number and focused all the modularity and adaptability efforts on the SFP9, at the expense of developing the VP9 and their hammer-fired guns.

Very well could be. Problem is they are, as usual, so late to the game. Doubt this thing will offer anything I don’t have covered with my 365s. Much like the VP9, while a very nice gun, didn’t really come into play until I was already settled (gear, guns and trigger time) on Glocks. Same for when optics came around, had the MOS long before the VP9 offered an option (which could have set it apart for me).

I still very much like the P2000 and HK45c which don’t have a competitor in my safe, but I really want to be able to mount optics on either or both. A P2000SK DA/SA with optic would very much interest me as a carry gun to bridge the 365xl/Glock 19 gap

Why not send the slide off to be milled? Ive seen MK23/USP/HK45's milled. Dont see how a P2000 would be any different, aside from needing a plate.

The conjecture in threads like this is always mind boggling.

HK makes a good gun in my experience. Considering I just sold off a Hellcat to pay for something else, I will entertain the new HK when released. All three of mine have been accurate and completely reliable. Down to only one now, but that's just because I wanted other stuff and needed money.
