hi i currently own a h&k usp compact 40 and a dealer want to trade me even for a sig p239 357sig what would you guys do thanks

I'd keep the H&K. I think .40 is a better choice that 357Sig due to ammo prices. You could get a .40 barrel for the Sig, but that's going to cost you a decent amount.

I personally would not trade the USPc for the P239.

I would trade a USPc40 for a SIG P229.40 in a flash however.

Agreed. The H&K is a good gun, but so is the SIG. The H&K has its quirks but I would not trade into a 357Sig. .40 might be a different story, depending on what characteristics I was looking for. Ditto for 9mm.

I think we need more information. Do you dislike the USPc? The .40 round? What is it about the H&K that makes you want to trade it?

First off why are considering trading off the HK USP compact?

Obviously dealers don't just offer to trade without you bringing up the subject.

Personally I would keep the USP Compact as it offers a great combination of size, power and capacity.

Don't get me wrong the P239 is a nice gun, but has just never felt right in my hands.

Keep the HK
1. 40 is less expensive than the 357 sig
2. The USPc holds more ammo than the 239
3. The HK is more ambidextrous than the SIG
4. This one is a little more subjective, but I think the HK is an all around better gun than the SIG
:D

.

The correct answer in this case:

Get whichever is more comfortable in your hands.

Which one do you shoot best??
Thats the one you should get.

P.S. Can't wait till 4:00 this Sunday (14th). :uhoh:
Your Boys will come crashing down to earth! :p This will be the begining of the "T.O. destroys the Cowgirls" story :neener:

Keep the HK. While I own both Sigs (P220, Pro2340, P232) and HK's (USP Full, USP Compact) the USP is about as perfect as a handgun can get. Everything is right where it should be and as it should be. The 239 is high up on my want list, but I'd never trade one of my HK's for it, or, for anything (other than eternal life and a crack at Uma Thurman).

The SIG is narrower and has a thinner grip. The trigger reach on the SIG is longer with the standard trigger. The HK holds more and it is lighter. Both pistols can be converted to .40, .357SIG, and 9mm with drop in, or conversion barrels. Which one do you want?

****. Anyone who honestly believes that Uma Thurman is more attractive than a puss-covered ingrown toenail is smoking something real good.

But seriously, to stay on topic, I would say keep the HK and save for the other. I'm saving for a Sig P239 in .357 Sig right now, but I miss my HK USPc (also in .40 S&W).

****, you got rid on an HK USPc?:neener:

BTW, for the record I've had a whole bunch of guns that I can't believe I got rid of, so I might add to the original poster to buy the gun that he will be least likely to get rid of and will be the most costly or difficult to replace when he realizes he has made a huge mistake.

Uma fits comfortably in my grip.

Seriously, the .357 Sig is a hoot of a cartridge to shoot out of any platform, even a Glock :uhoh:;). Crisper recoil than a .40 Short & Weak, and dead-nuts accurate.

Keep the HK and buy a .357 Sig bbl. and set of mags for it.
