Searched the forum for input on this question and didn't see what I need to know.

I am a Service rifle shooter, (20" barrel 1/7 twist) 10 years of using Varget over Sierra 77 gr and 80 gr Matchking bullets. Popular load with competitive Service rifle shooters.

With Varget hard to get, I am considering using H335 instead of Varget.

Question......any Service Rifle or .223 Match rifle shooters out there that have used H335 over these Sierra MK bullets, and if so, what is your experience?

Temp stability? accuracy with the MK bullets? Any other input?

Forums seem to have lots of data for varmit shooters using lighter bullets, but no comments from the High Power competitive shooters crowd.

Thanks in advance......

I agree with your choice of Varget for accuracy and while H335 is also a very good choice there are better choices today. Since you are building competition ammo you don't want fouling to interfere with your accuracy during the match. Ramshot TAC has a Copper reducing additive as does the newer Hodgdon CFE223. I would suggest either for competition ammo before H335.

Alliant offers two powders that are reported to be very good and accurate but I have no first hand knowledge of them. They are AR-Comp and Power Pro Varmint. Of the two AR-Comp is supposed to be better than Varmint for heavier bullets.

If possible I would try to find some TAC or CFE223 first.

I shoot pretty much the same rifle as you. H335 is a great powder for lighter bullets. I haven’t had much luck with it for heavy bullets. A lot of guys around here use Re loader 15. I didn't have much luck with that ether. Luckily I haven’t run out of Varget yet.

You might try the National Match forums. Lots of good information there.
