I have loade a box of 270 Win with WW primers and 47gr of H380. They shoot ok just that they seem to hangfire in my Remington 700. It has a very slight delay the firing pin drops and then boom. What could cause this? The manuals show it to be a good load.I have several manuals to cross reference. The gun is fine I shot several other loads factory and handloads without this problem at the same time. I have tried 7 of these loads all do the same thing?
Thanks

I believe you will need to use a magnum primer with that ball powder. I'm guessing that you are using it in fairly cold weather, and the standard primers are not igniting the powder properly.
H380 will work, but there are better powders for the 270 Win.

Thanks i thought about a magnum primer but it does not call for it. It is not really cold here when i was shooting the loads. I have loaded the 270 with H4350 but would like some different loads?
Thanks

"Always use magnum primers w/ ball powders"
(It isn't always right, but almost never wrong)

FWIW:
I'm using H380 in a 308Win/M1A combo.
It likes CCI250s
