I know we had a thread on this - or including same - some while back. Since then we have gained much new blood and so, enjoying pic threads as I do, thought we'd try it again .. see what we have. Whatcha got???

My first offering is the Rohrbaugh R9 barrel ...

I took this picture of my Taurus PT99 9mm a few weeks ago to prove the condition of the bore when I was considering selling it.

Huh, it just so happens that I recently took a picture of a barrel of one of my guns. I'm in the process of selling off a NIC very early model HK USP9 to a friend. One of the photos of the gun is the barrel as the gun was one of the inital USPs with regular land/groove rifling instead of the more current polygonal. The photo is the proof of the claim. Well that and the 5 digit serial number.

Not as artistic as P95Carry's but wasn't taking the photo for that purpose at the time.

Wow P95carry! That barrel looks ROUGH!! Is that a big line inthe chamber wall? Notice how all the other barrels look smooth polished? The little pocket rocket of your looks like the gouged the rifleing out with a rock! :what:

Jim ... that chamber in fact when viewed normally hardly shows anything - I think the light angle makes a very small artifact show excessively. The rifling - well that barrel has seen quite a lot of use and - IIRC I did not do a thoro clean before taking the pic ... it has bothered me since and needs a reshoot really. Must try that - now you have reminded me of this. I'll post if I get to it.

I played with that SRH pic BTW - to make this version :p

bigjim - set that R9 barrel up again and found that one light direction did give impression of a chamber line that otherwise was all but invisible. A miniscule change obviates that almost - but due to the detailing effect... the rifling still looks a tad ''machined''. Made worse by getting light into barrel with a card covered in Reynolds Wrap ... so some mottling effect of light.

I have ''sub'd the pic with updated version.

Close up with head magnifier, the whole deal looks just nicely polished!. This barrel has been the hardest I have photographed!! It is now cleaner tho - and I think poor cleaning pre photo was a factor.

Sorry, I don't have any..But does anyone have a picture of a P95?
I'm getting one and just want to see it.. :)

Notice the fluted chamber and gas port in the above photo.
