Early next week I'm going to interview for a position with Army Special Ops command at Ft Bragg (civilian) and I wonder about the area. I've read in a few threads that NC requires permits to purchase, any strange laws about bringing my collection with me?

Also, are there some good ranges/shops to use in the area? I know I'll be leaving Atlanta this year as I need to find greener pastures but I don't really want to go anywhere where I can't enjoy my hobby. Also, will NC recognize my Georgia CCW? Thanks for any answers...

Hay Street

NGIB: Sir; your CCW will be honored from Georgia. Spending many summers on the farm; Fayetteville is a flat country town that is growing.
yes you do have to have 'permit' to purchase or get another CC and NO MORE PERMITS:) Under current law; YOUR Georgia CC will not be honored for purchasing.

Close to the base there are place's to purchase, fondle, drool, and shoot.:)
Summers are hot,
and do stay off 'Hay Street' toughest town in America, well maybe that place accross the river @Columbus Georgia:D

The ocean is about 1 1/2 hrs east, Raliegh 30-45 min. north, Mountains about 3-4hrs west. Charlotte, Basketball, Football, Hockey, about 1 1/2hrs east
Follow up when you can.

That place across the river "@Columbus, Ga" is Pheonix City, Alabama.
No where near Ft Bragg NC. Ft Benning is at Columbus.

youll be fine bringing your collection... NFA items will have to go through the atf... pistols require a purchase permit, long guns do not... CCP will exempt you from permits and from NCIS checks at purchase...

come on over to carolinashootersforum.com and say hi... there are several people in your area...

I was going to tell him that in the PM I sent. I forgot:rolleyes:

I spent 2 years at Ft.Bragg living off post in Spring Lake adjacent to the north entrance.
Fayetteville and environs will never win any beauty contests. The town is rough looking and dowdy the terrain fairly flat and boring.A typical place to locate a Fort as was common in the early 20th century.
Above all its military ,probably the home of more brass than any Army post.82nd Airborne,Special Forces, lot of elite units.
Pope AFB sits next to Bragg.Much more relaxing there.
It seems ANYPLACE would be preferable to Atlanta. And as pointed out by Neophyte1, lots of interesting, beautiful places are only a few miles and hours away.
Go for it.
