John Taffin called me a few minutes ago to wish me a happy Turkey Day and we had a nice chat about all the stuff we do. His new book is done and went to the printers November 1st so he is off the hook again for a while. Since the Holiday was fresh in the old mind, I thought it would be a great time to wish all of you a nice day with family and friends. I know I have a lot to be thankful for and I am sure that we all do. I turned down all the invitations this year and am going to spend a quiet day at home eating good stuff and being greatful for all my many blessings. I am still on Standby to run North if I have to go see my best pal.

As for me, when I sit down to my dinner of Tofurkey and organic vegetables, I will first apologize to all the native americans that have been opprressed by the white eurpoean males that invaded this shores with conquest and blood and destroyed the close to the land spiritual basis of the natoive folk. My guests, which shall include a diverse grouping of Natives, African Americans, Palestinian Freedom Fighters, Asian Americans, Latinos, Trasgendered, Gays, Lesbians, HIV positive vertically challenged ampuutees and the homeless will further celebrate the holiday by engaging in spritied discussions as to how the progressive peoples of the world can throw off the chains of wage slavery and capitalism and remove the fascist junta (represented by the arch fiends Warmonger Bush, Haliburton Cheney and Race Traitor Rice) that is presently destroying world peace. As we dig into our dessert and free Trade Coffee, we shall all hold hands and sing such moving songs as "the Inernationale" and "Joe Hill"..

I will be having Thanksgiving with my mother in law. She hates me and has elected to kill me by cooking the most delicious food in the world and making me sit down and eat until I die. It's a hard life that I lead, but somebody has to do it.

Y'all have a happy Thanksgiving, I'll be back sometime Saturday and probably five pounds heavier!

I too echo H's comment and - backatcha Dave.

No turkey for me probably - in morning off to meet the guy who has built my new work puter system ... sorta half-ways meet - probably a four hour drive round trip. Chances are we'll share a bite at the truck stop off exit 27 of I 81!! LOL

Once home again - all speed to start a config on the new machine, followed I hope by a visit from satellite installer Friday - then a weekend of more config' !!

Count your blessings all - I do - even to extent I give thanks for every single day I am still permitted to be on this lil' rock we call home.

We have much to be thankful for. Spend the day with friends and family or even alone and reflect upon the fact that we live, work & play in one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever known. Others have owned more territory and others have made great strides but nowhere throughout history has the individual citizen wielded so much power.
