I was thinking of trying the New Starline Rifle brass for my 6.5 CM, AR-10. Was wondering if anyone has used it to determine how well it hold up, compared to Lapua. Also how consistent is it, volume/weight. This is more important to me since I want some good accuracy out it. I have 200 of the Lapua so I will be rotating batches. Just need to make a decision on weather it trying or stick to Lapua brass which is twice the price.

Thanks in advanced.

Do not know about the 6.5 CM brass they sell, but I have ordered lots of .357 mag brass and have had no problems. Have reloaded it many times and it holds up well. Many on this forum order from them. Why not try some and see if you like it?

If it ever warms up enough here to go to the range I will have some data for you about them. Until then I have 100 loaded and waiting for their first firing, will check volume then and start load work ups. My initial impressing was that it was well made and I had no issues with the initial loading, I did not weight sort it or anything like that yet and I am not sure if I am going to or not.

Thanks for the info. I will probably get a few 100 to move into rotation with the Lapua brass. Once I get things settled on load data I will probably use the different brass to separate loads. By chance did you check the flash hole size? The Lapua has a 0.062 (1/16) flash hole. Most brass with SP has a slightly larger size, 0.072-0.740. I had to reduce the size of the pin on the universal deprimer I use prior to depriming.

I have been running a batch of 200 Starline cases in 6.5 Creedmoor recently. Only have 1-2 firings on each case though. The weight was pretty consistent but I can't remember exactly what weight I was getting or what the spread was. I cleaned the flash holes and uniformed the primer pockets prior to use and had to remove very little material compared to FC 223 brass I have cleaned up. Not sure it needed to be done at all. At this point I am very happy with them.
