Has any one used chamber adapters from MCA?

I'm wondering about the accuracy of .32 ACP or .32 H&R adapters in .30-30 or .308.

If the adapters are worthwhile, then I can easily use my .30-30 Contender (pistol or carbine) or planned NEF .308 for small game (or even plinking) without changing barrels in the field.

Thoughts or experience, anyone?

I have an adapter , 45acp/45-70. I did not get good accuracy nor did I expect it because of the difference in diameter. You will do much better if the bore diameter is the same. I remember an article some years ago where a shooter tested these adapters comparing those that he bought and those that he made . the ones he made were much more accurate , but they had been precisely made to give a snug fit in the chamber. So if you buy them expect reasonable but not exceptional accuracy.

A couple of years back I ordered one of these from Cabela's or some such place so that I could shoot .32 ACP from my Winchester 30/30 carbine. During the first 5 or 10 shells, the adapter cracked, so I sent it back. I guess .32 are more powerful than we all thought.

Point of impact was of course very different for the two shells, enough that I would have to re-adjust my scope even for short ranges to hit in the bull. I hit the paper though and was not real impressed with the accuracy of the few shots I had before the thing broke.

At any rate, I didn't miss it as it created all kinds of black, sooty-looking fouling in my barrel and because .32's are too expensive for the kind of plinking I wanted to do.

I'd recommend just getting a good .22 and forgetting such a gimmick device.

there was an artical about them and other adapters in rifle magazine one or two issues ago if I find it I'll tell you the exact one. To sum it up they liked em alot.

I had one that converted a .223 to 22lr but I didn't like it because it had a steel plug which was driven forward into the cartridge by the firing pin.
I didn't see how striking steel could be real good for my firing pin.
The ones which adapt to a centerfire cartridge might be better.

At this point, getting an adapter seems like a semi-educated gamble. "cracked" & "inaccurate" vs. "liked em a lot".

Pending any other input I may get one out eventually; but will wait for now.

Sounded like a great idea until I read the instructions:

"Simply coat the the outside of the adapter with non permanent Locktiteâ„¢, place a fired 7.62x39 case inside the chamber and close the bolt. After 10-12 hours, eject the 7.62x39 case and you are ready to start shooting. Inexpensive Russian ammo costs 25-50% less than any regular 308 or 30-06. A broken shell extractor will remove the adapter and return the gun to it's original caliber. If you are careful, the adapter is reusable!"

If I could switch between 308 and 30-06 at will, I'd give it a try, but this sounds like a semi-permanent or one-time modification.
