I've kinda bounced back and forth, and not so much in any general direction.
I carried a 4 1/2" S&W 681 for a long time back when I wasn't dedicated to EDC. Just when I was going into town and such. Then I had children (a set of mean twin boys now 13yr old) and I decided to carry everyday. I went with a CZ 75b for a while and then to a tiny NAA Pug 22wmr for those days I wore shorts.
Then onto a Glock 43 for the last several years. I bought a DB9 to replace the NAA as my "shorts" gun. Got a CZ p10C as my "perfect" carry gun thats still a little bigger than I'd like honestly but I really felt more confident with those added rounds so Ive purchased a Sig p365 and so far I'm happy with the compromise.
For me, the 681 was the gun I trusted and shot well but was more gun than I wanted to wag around. I did carry a 5" 1911 some but ended up going with the CZ 75b for the option of the hammer being lowered on to the safety notch and having a quick DA pull rather than worrying with the safety on the 1911.
The Glock 43 was easier to carry. Lighter, smaller, and the same trigger pull every time. Just not enough rounds so enter the CZ P10c. I couldn't get used to the added size working where I am now. Alot of manual labor very close to other employees so I had to go smaller and like I said, I wanted more rounds than most small guns so I chose the Sig p365. That's where I'm at now.
