Have you ever given a firearm to someone as a gift?

yes, several of them ranging in price from $200 - $800.

i regret giving every one of them except the ones i bought for my daughter.

I've passed along a few guns of my own. Gave a newbie I was teaching a VZ-24 Mauser. Gave another newbie a sporterized Arisaka. Gave my Dad, who is a half Swede himself, a Swedish Mauser. Gave an old friend a first generation import Sar-1 to cheer her up. That last one was maybe more than I should have given away. It only cost me $250 but the suckers go for a lot more than that now. It was a very nice AK clone. Gave a neighbor an M44 Mosin for bear protection. Gave an ex a nice Winchester 94 --not sure why I did that actually. I'm building a Trade Gun for my bro as a Christmas present this year (don't tell him).

Pretty much if you hang around me long enough you'll end up with some kind of firearm.

Over the last 15/20 years,

Given three
Received three

Guess that's about fair! Well, actually, the value of the guns I've received far outstrips the value of the ones I've given. Maybe I need to fix that this year...

The best was a surprise Christmas present - a Beretta Silver Pigeon O/U clay gun and fitting service at the Beretta Gallery. Now that really was a surprise and pleasure.

Quite a few, mostly to my kids. At least a dozen or so.

I believe such things come back around, though. My son, who is 32 now, gave me a S&W AR15 for my 60th birthday a week ago (on behalf of him and my wife and daughters, but still, he picked it out). :what:

My dad passed away about two years ago and my two brothers and I had to decide who got what family heirloom firearms. It would have been a lot easier if dad had just given them away while he was still with us. There was nothing of great value, but they meant something to family.

My best friend, who was 57 at the time, retired, moved to Ogden, Utah and got married the same week. I gave him my Marlin 1894 .357 he had always coveted.

yes i proposed with a kimber custom TLE II with custom grips and laser engraving on the slide saying "Love till death do us part..."

Sure enough!

The ones that come to mind are:

Gave my Dad a new .22 Colt Peacemaker revolver for a Christmas present long ago
Gave my son a new Remington .22 bolt action as his first gun when he was 10years old
Gave my son a new Winchester 1300 20 ga for a Christmas present
Gave my son a new Ruger P95DC for his birthday
Gave my daughter a new Ruger SR9 because I felt she needed one

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting about.

I've been on the receiving end of many gifted guns, mostly from my Dad

Hi, I'm Justin

Yes, I gave a 1911 to my brother when he got married. I told him that since he was now responsible for another's safety, he should have the means to defend her.
