Not even for your carry gun?

I have done this more than once, and it was a bit disconcerting driving home from the mountains with all my guns and no ammo!

I leave without ammo, but I never shoot the gun I'm wearing. Guess I bring enough in the first place. :)

"I am completely out of ammuntion....that's never happened to me before...." :D

Yes I do. The days where I bring the most ammo I end up leaving with most of it unused though

I bring my scoped pellet gun (Beeman P3) and a tin of Beeman Match pellets to ensure that this never happens.

There is always 'ammo' left... ;)

Actually, I got to the Sacramento shoot yesterday and realized that I had only packed:

-100 rounds of .45 ACP
-200 rounds of S&B 9mm
-150 rounds of .22 LR

... for five hours of shooting! Doh!

Must... remember... my Federal Bulk Pack .22 LR next time...

Mark IV Series 80,
Never. Guns maybe pretty hanging on a wall, or in a museum, but if they're empty when you need 'em, you'll find a place next to the dodo bird... I always carry shotgun and pistol in my car- plus whatever I'm going to shoot. I always have "combat" ammo, loaded, locked, cocked, and ready to use... Always be prepared for anything, and never let 'em see you sweat...

Carter, oldpaladin, out...

defense gun ammo left at home, but if I go shooting all ammo is to be consumed , the only 2 time this didn't happen was when the day was called due to tornado warnings ( sirens blaring ) in the area and heavy lightning strikes .., and when we ran out of sunlight .. but a box of defensive ammo comes with JIK ..

Only once, I had let my gunsmith try my extra (loaded) mag I kept in vehicle, in a customers gun ( sorting aout problems-- another gunsmiths work). We each thought the other had reloaded the mag...I just used his BUG till we got back to shop.

I now keep extra carry ammo for 2 calibers in vehicle.

More times than not, I shoot all the ammo I bring...one reason why I only bring a few hundred of everything I shoot.
Funny thing happend today at the range. I got to talking to a guy a few lanes from me. He bought a SIG 380 for his wife. He was shooting it, gonna clean it & then give it to his wife later in the evening. Anyway, he shoot all his ammo & left. I shot for another few minutes. When I left, I noticed on the bench in the lane he was one, the guy had left the gun. I picked it up & tried o catch him in the parking lot. He was gone  Couldn't figure how someone can run out of ammo & leave a gun! :what: I left the gun w/ the range guys for when the owner calls for it.

Not for many years. I have gotten down to 10 rds of carry ammo or just fmj ammo in carry gun. I have fired all rifle ammo but kept some pistol ammo.

Never.

Never landed an airplane with no fuel in the tanks either.

Seems comparable....

No matter what I am shooting on range, there is ALWAYS one on hip and one elswhere ready to go. ( think FLA mid 80's) SPG

If I get a wild hair and shoot it all I will buy more before leaving the range. Empty gun? No chance.

When I head to the range, the gun I'm wearing doesn't get shot (carry gun). Neither does the spare ammo for it I carry. If my carry gun is to be shot, I carry something else. What ever is on my hip at the time does not get shot.

Yep; once. Didn't like the feeling; bein' naked.:uhoh:

Also, ONCE, arrived at the range with NO ammo (except in carry).

Just forgot it.:what:
