Hello all- just joined this forum today, and am looking forward to discussing reloading, shooting and gunsmithing with you all!

I am a mechanical engineer interested in guns in every way. A couple years ago I started a project (my website) with the goal to provide as much product free information as possible about reloading equipment (primarily progressive reloaders).

I have free HD reloading video series underway for the following reloading presses:
- The Hornady Lock-N-Load ap Progressive
- The Dillon XL-650
- The Redding T7 7 station turret

Check out these videos here: (There's a separate tab for each manufacturer)
http://ultimatereloader.com

I'm planning to continue with these videos, and should have complete coverage of all 4 "5 station" progressive reloaders some time in the near future (Hornady Lock-N-Load AP, Dillon XL650, RCBS Pro 2000, Lee Loadmaster). Here's my philosophy: Each of these companies are in business for a reason- they each have products with unique value and features for particular buyers. Each press has its strengths and weaknesses, and this project exists to answer the question "what press is right for me" not "I'll tell you what press is right for you".

I keep finding great threads from THR when I'm doing research online, and I'm excited to join in on the fun.

If you have ideas for me, please share them, and I'd love to hear about what you all are up to.

Thanks,
Gavin

I been watching your Videos on Youtube. Watched several of them yesterday. Good job. I'll be buying my first press real soon and plain to get the Hornady Classic LNL kit.

Welcome to THR forum.

Thanks for the welcome! that's a great kit, and if you add the Lock-N-Load AP Progressive later, you'll have a great system that works together! Have fun.

Great site with well done and informative videos.

A question...Is there a single calibration between the two presses i.e., one spacer that works with the various dies (decap-resize, expander, powder drop, powder cop, seater and crimp) of a single caliber as well as dies of a different caliber? If one is dealing with a singular difference in stoke length then one spacer should calibrate the two presses for any die of any caliber. Is this a correct assumption?

Thanks, and again a great site!

It's people like you ultimate that keep this sport and right alive and well thank you again for your knowledge you are willing to share with all I pick you as #1 for input....and taking the high road

Thanks guys for the feedback- to answer your question rlc603- for the calibration of the Lock-N-Load classic and Lock-N-Load AP progressive, it's a one time thing, and it works with all dies and the powder measure. The only caviat is if you are using different shellholders in the classic that have a slight variation in height (where the shell actually bottoms out in the shellholder).

I really like using both presses together.

Project for Ultimate

Hey UltimateReloader,
I have a project you.
I whould like to take the barrel off of my GP100 and put on a Dan Wesson barrel, so can you tell me how hard and expensive that would be?

Well you asked!:D

I just watched your Dillon XL650 video for .45ACP the other night, and it is what pushed me towards that for my next press - it is the only video I've seen for the 650 that really clearly let me see the progression of what was going on.

Problem becomes saving for it, gets pretty pricey with the case feeder!

Excellent videos. I watched both part 1 and 2 of the Hornady LNL series.
Although I've been loading on the LNL for three years I still found the videos quite interesting. Well done.

Great Videos!

I'd be interested in seeing "upgrades" on the various presses once you get the basic "how they function" videos done. For example, adding a bullet feeder to an RCBS Pro as an example.

Your video quality is outstanding!

Lonely Raven- Will do! In fact that's why I chose the name UltimateReloader- the idea of showing tips, tricks and accessories (such as the steel pedestal, etc) - "turn your press into the ultimate reloader" that kind of thing. Glad you like the videos!

Gavin (aka Ultimate Reloader)

I previously posted a comment on one of your youtube videos but wanted to take the opportunity to thank you again for all the work you put into these presentations. Certainly they are some of the best I've found on the web.

Much appreciated!

Gavin -

Your enthusiasm for all things reloading is contagious. :)

I subscribed to your Youtube thread because whatever you come up with will be worth watching.

I appreciate the time and effort you have put into these fine presentations!
