Head of Moms Demand Action defines "assault weapon" as 10+ rounds fired in 1 minute

I saw a 10 year old girl hold roughly 4 MOA during the rapid fire section on an Appleseed AQT with a single shot, beak action rifle. That is 10 (well) aimed shots in 65 seconds.
 
Shhh, don't mention anything it excludes. The Moms will hear you and find a way to demonize those as well.

The action they should be demanding has to do with the criminal justice system, not with firearms.
 
During WW1 it was believed a well trained soldier could fire his bolt action military grade rifle 25 times accurately in one minute. Having seen that done a number of times with Mausers and Springfields, its definetly fits her definition of "assault rifle".

Still, to her credit, such a proposal as this makes a lot more sense as a means to her goal (disarmament and degradation of the citizenry's self defense). At least compared to banning pistol grip stocks, which never accomplished anything for either side of the argument.

10rpm. That basically rules out all fixed-case ammunition, fellas. So we're back to the whole "only flintlocks are covered by the 2nd" schtick again. However, we've got court rulings backing us, and more shooters than ever. So we can honestly say, without hyperbole, that this woman is advocating anti-constitutional measures to restrict the freedoms accepted as ordinary in this nation. Her argument runs counter to recent rulings by the SCOTUS on down; she still seeks to implement this madness. The media will never portray people like this as the type of extremist who would undo our system of law to meet their ends; we need to.

I mean come on... these moms must be straight out of one of those stupid Real Housewives shows..
 
The very fact this was posted on Twitter explains it all. Anyone who thinks the problems of the world or issues with gun control can be solved in 140 characters aimed at "followers" who have the attention span of moths is a fool. Sorry to anyone who has Twitter, that is just my take on it :D

What's "modern" have to do with it? Or even accuracy?

A single action, a single shot, and even a percussion revolver can fire 10+ shots in one minute.
 
@David E, black powder guns and such, the average person would have trouble getting 10 shots off in a minute, is what I was referring to.

As a definition it is inaccurate. As has been pointed out, every cartridge gun fits that very broad definition.

"An assault weapon enables humans to shoot 10 rounds in one minute." ranks right up there with "Wings enable animals to fly." Technically true but such a broad statement as to be meaningless.

It is possible that she missed a 0 in that statement. That would put it in a different category.
