It is your home, your castle, a place where you expect to be safe.

But a bold group of armed robbers hit a house in Warner Robins last night, even though the entire family was home.

It is the third home invasion in Warner Robins this month.
Police aren't sure if they have one gang targeting neighborhoods, or several.

But they are sure you need to keep your eyes open.

CHRIS ROOKS, WARNER ROBINS POLICE:
"There were several kids in the house and its a very serious situation and we are taking it very seriously."

Sgt Chris Rooks has investigated his share of crime sprees in his years as a Warner Robins Police Officer, but looking at the reports on these home invasions, he sees some frightening trends.

CHRIS ROOKS, WARNER ROBINS POLICE:
"We have had three home invasions when the suspects enter a home while the victims are home and have demanded money."

The latest robbery happened Monday night on this street, five men robbed a family then left the house on foot.

CHRIS ROOKS, WARNER ROBINS POLICE:
"It has been reported at least 4-5 people are entering the homes with guns so they know there are risks so they think they are prepared with a lot of weapons."

Police are searching the evidence but so far have no definite connection between Monday's break-in and two others that happened in different neighborhoods in other parts of the city, but all three involve a group of suspects, armed with guns who break into houses while the family is home.

It's enough to worry just about anyone, but police say you can do something
To fight back.

CHRIS ROOKS, WARNER ROBINS POLICE:
"There was a neighbor last night who noticed someone walking down the road he thought he was suspicious he never called the police. Later he saw the police car at the house and he actually saw the suspect before the crime was committed, but never called. If you feel a little uncomfortable, we'll check it out. If it turns out to be nothing it will be ok, just let us check it out."
