A custom 6.5 PRC has come to life. The VZ24 with an ER Shaw barrel, Boyds laminate stock, Timney trigger and Leupold 4-12x40 scope makes this three cartridge loaded rifle come in at 11 pounds. In case you wondered, recoil is barely noticed. I can see the target during follow through without being kicked away from scope view.
So why do I have a fairly heavy hunting rifle? The only reason is that is how this one turned out. It is not a purely paper punching rifle (due to the stock and scope) and it is not a safe queen………oh no. I have 30 ish handloads to tinker with in load work up and a box of factory ammo from Hornady.
