Hellcat? Yes or no?

I carry the Hellcat.
Do I love it? No....its not a 1911.
It is however, lighter and compact, and 100% reliable. Good sights. And a 1911 style safety. It is accurate too.
Only slightly larger than the sig 365, but comparable.
I think considerably more compact that a G19.
A poorly written late-night review, lol.
I hope it helps.
The Hellcat has become my go-to edc lately. I like its size and 13+1 capacity.
It is a high quality piece.

I was one of the very early adopters of the HS Produkt handguns buying a version 1 HS2K when they first hit the market.

Since I like having manual thumb safeties on my pistols the Hellcat is one that I keep coming back to consider but ...

I really really really hate the name for a handgun today.
I really really really hate rails and optics ready stuff that has to be covered up but is never really hidden.
I really really really wish it was in 45acp.

I could probably ignore the first two issues if there was a 45acp version.

My friend asked if I knew anything about them. I only saw a few small things. Who Carry’s one? Do you love it? He is a Glock 19 carrier at current ? Would you make that switch?
Yes, I would, because the Hellcat is a lot smaller. G19s are great guns, but there's no getting around the thickness and long barrel that makes IWB carry uncomfortable.

While he's looking at them, have him look at a Sig P365. It's about the same size (a smidge smaller) and has a nicer trigger. I narrowed it down to those two, and went with the P365, myself. P365 doesn't have trigger or grip safeties; maybe he wants those. I could take or leave them.

I checked out the Hellcat, Shield+, and the P365X. Liked the trigger, the grip design, and the overall ergonomics of the P365X the best so that's what I went with. I think you really can't go wrong with any of them; just pick the one that fits you the best.

I didn't care for the one I had and sold it. I much prefer the S&W Shield Plus that I now have. Easier to rack the slide. It shoots like a larger gun.
Did you ever shoot a Sig P365?

I'm seeing a LOT of good comments on the Shield+; it has me thinking of trying one...

Friend of mine had me shoot his Hellcat micro... did NOT like it. Granted, the micro didn't fit my hand well... that's bad enough, but the trigger??? Gawd... I'd take a Glock over the Hellcat, and that's saying something.

My advise is to try to find an example to test fire... to make sure it's for him. Don't be afraid to not like it.

I had a hellcat striker break in half after extensive dry fire with a laser cartridge mostly and snap caps. After about 1200 live rounds though that one I sent it back for feed problems that developed. Eventually they took it back permanently at my request. I replaced it with another one and have had 800 trouble free rounds through it. I don't dry fire that one and carry it every day, until the weather goes cold enough for a G19.

I like the design and with 2000+ rounds invested through the platform I am comfortable with it. But if I were to start from scratch I would probably go with a p365 variant.

I don't have a hellcat because I have an "old" shield 9 I picked up when they were less than $300. Along with 4 mags and 2 holsters I really like. That makes me "set up" fine, with not so much $ invested. If I wasn't set up like this, I would be investing in a hellcat and the same stuff.

My Hellcat with its' compensator is perfect! I didn't like the Wasp red dot (hard to keep adjusted) so...mounted a Trijicon RMRcc and I never looked back! Ring steel during the week and dance on Sunday. Yeah, I shoot it that much! Have a nice day! Fireball

I put an Apex trigger in my hellcat and it's a fine shooter now. For summer carry I leaned toward my LCP Max or a revolver but now with colder weather the Hellcat or my Shield Plus 30 SC will be carried more.
