Help deciding next concealed carry

I would recommend that what ever pistols you are interested in, you try to rent one first. A lot of ranges do this. I tried most of the MICRO 9's and found them to be uncomfortable. I can shoot them, but I do not enjoy it. I rented about 4 different models and did not buy any of them after trying them. They are good guns, but not for me. I ended up buying SIG 365 and use the HORNADY Lite 100 grain FTX ammo, but recoil is still strong for me and I ended up carrying my GL:OCK 42 off duty a lot more and my GLOCK 19 issue pistol too and from work.
On weekends, I would usually carry a BERETTA 92 Compact or SIG 229 as these are much nicer pistols too shoot and I practice with them often.

So, my advice is try before you buy and shoot at least 50 rounds. If at the end of the shooting session, you would have no problems shooting another 50 round, you are good to go with that pistol. If not, try something else.

Good luck,

Jim

Gotta appreciate how it's spelled out on the grip... that that's the "Grip Zone."

I made fun of Springfield labeling the grip on the XD mod 2 many, many times on this very forum. In response Springfield discontinued the XD mod 2. I will pick up a second one in .45 acp some day because I like it so much (I pretty much NEVER buy duplicates) and maybe one in 40 S&W. The irony is that the "Grip zone" really is that good that Springfield was right to brag about it. Most everyone that has ever shot my XD mod 2 has REALLY been impressed with it. A couple have even bought their own. My petite daughter doesn't like it, she is not a "gun person" and 45 acp was too much for her.

I don't have any experience with the XD or XDm so I can't really compare them to the XD mod 2. I do have a XDs in .45 acp and it isn't a very pleasant shooter because of the very thin grip and even lighter weight. The XDs is more concealable though.

A belated "Congrats" to your choice on the G48!

I tried both the G43X and the G48 and couldn't decide which one I liked better so I got them both! A G43X for it's more compact size with it's shorter barrel and slide, and a G48 for it's slightly better handling and balance, feeling more like a larger gun than it is.
