So I have traded my way into a blued Browning A-Bolt action. It is setup for .223. SN is 08974MRXXX. I would like advice on who would be the one to buy a barrel from? Preferably somewhere where they can install it as well. Then I can have any stock fitting done locally. Not looking for absolute top end for competition shooting, but I also don't want something that fell off the back of a truck. I've done some looking on my own, but want to leave a blank slate here to get the opinions of others.
Other wants for this build:
1-7" twist. Because I like shooting heavy bullets AND I want to potentially experiment with reduced loads using heavier bullets. I had considered converting this action over to 22 Hornet and having a fast twist 22 Hornet, but keeping it .223 will give greater versatility. I had also considered trying making a 30 Carbine bolt gun, because why not, but always came back to the .223 option. 5R rifling seems to be the best overall from what I see, but I know I also shouldn't be let down by a 6-groove barrel for my uses.
"Medium Target" profile barrel, 20" long, that goes to about .875" diamiter at the muzzle. I've handled guns with a similar sort of profile and they aren't too heavy to carry around, but still have enough weight/stiffness to them for if I want to try longer distances.
Threaded for suppressor use. Another reason for the Medium Target barrel profile. The 20" barrel length doesn't make things ridiculous with a can on it, like it starts to become with a 22" or 24" barrel.
Stock. I'm probably just gonna grab a factory stock off eBay or Gunbroker and use that for the time being and get a feel for the gun. That part is pretty easy to upgrade later. Figure something like this, https://www.gunbroker.com/item/909905040 .
TL,DR: Who is my best bang for the buck to make and install a 20" Medium Target profile .223 barrel with a 1-7" twist that is threaded for a suppressor onto a blued Browning A-Bolt action.
Thanks everyone for the input you can give.
