help me choose a "compact" 1911

I've been carrying a Colt LWC for years. Sometimes I will show up with a full size 1911 or a 357 but the one with the most miles is the Commander.

what is colt still offering NIB? should i be looking used if i opt for a colt? it sure seems like they've been going downhill as far as civilian sales and service goes...
