Well this is a first for me. I am using the 4 hole lee turret press. The primer arm is now stuck in ram. It seems the primer arm is still attached to the primer and the primer is attached to the brass as if half way seated in both. I'm guessing I got a military crimped piece of brass which has caused this malfunction. Any ideas on how to get the primer Out? I have read to use the resizing die to just push the primer out. Sounds like it would work but the arm is still under the primer so guessing that would just pop it. Any different ideas? And if not would popping the primer with the resizing die damage the die at all?

Prolly won't damage the die but may break the primer arm/seater. There should be enough room in the seater cup to push the primer out of the case though, just go slow.

I have had this happen a few times with mine. I was able to just pull back and forth on the shell holder a few times with a pair of pliers to get the primer out of there. Another time I was able to just ram it up a little harder to seat the primer a little further and just wiggle it out. Best of luck

Ok I was able to get it out with the resizing die. It came out no problem. I'm still unsure of what happened there. The brass was not crimped and the primer was not bent in anyway. Still not using either but no visible damage. And I put some serious force on the lever. Hopefully a fluke.. thanks for the replies!

Well I bought bulk brass that had already been once fired. P robablly my first mistake. But the brass I had with malfunction was perfecta and using cci primers

Crimped cases sometimes don’t look crimped on examination.
I have done the same thing with my LCT!

I just try to be aware of the force required as I start pushing the press handle up to prime. I’ve “learned” what feels “tight” and what feels crimped.

Don't you mean imperfecta? I hate that stuff and won't reload it in rifle calibers. I don't check headstamps on pistol, so some gets reloaded. Frequent off center flash holes and loose primer pockets. The best use for it is the scrap brass bucket, since the scrap metal dealer doesn't mind.

I have found this to be true with the latest brass from Perfecta as well. I have a set of six hundred that are a few years old. They are very uniform and of consistant wieght.
They are nothing at all like the batch I made last year, and the brass in discussion. How they could be so far off center and still be unprimed is beyond me. After fifty or so, I threw the remaining four hundred and fifty in the scrap bucket.:(
There is definitely a difference in the tooling between the two.
Starline brass is always worth it.
