Help with Glock Autoloader

I have a Glock 19 and a Glock 27. Both came with the plastic autoloader devices. They don't work! Today at the range a friend had a XD 40 and my Glock autoloaders work fine in his Springfield magazine, but neither will work with the Glock mags. The cartridges just won't go in when the spring is pushed down. Any ideas?

I just bought a glock and noticed that too. When I push down with it the round only goes about half way in, then you have to pull it up to get it the rest of the way in. What a pain, I just load mags by hand now...

Toughen up your fingers----leave the mags set fully loaded for a while.

I agree, no need for any extra devices just to load your magazines...I had one for my first gun (XD40), but stopped using it as soon as I realized that loading by hand was just as fast, if not faster. Just my 2 cents..

Never used it on my Glocks though..

Sometimes you need a mag-loader, like loading a large number for a training course or competition, or a smaller caliber like 32 or 380 where fat thumbs and small case-wall exposure can hinder you.

Neat little loader that works down to 380Auto and loads single and double-stack mags.

So why is this a problem? This is exactly the way my Glock magazine loader works, which seems fine to me. Takes a little practice to get used to the motion, then it's fine.

I'm not sure how you are trying to use these.

They are designed to push down the follower or top cartridge in the magazine so you can easily insert the next cartridge by hand.

If you are putting a loose cartridge on top and using the mag loader to shove it in, you are doing it wrong (and please don't do this to metal magazine, or you'll ruin them)

I KNOW how mag loaders are SUPPOSED to work

But these two don't work on the Glocks. They worked perfectly on the XD. I wasn't using a different technique than I used on the Glocks. After the first cartridge is loaded and you depress the mag spring to insert the second casing, it WON'T go in straight. I do appreciate all the input. I'll just load them all by hand, not that big of a deal except on days like this where I shot about 400 rounds.

Looks like what the Dr ordered. It's great that it works on multi calibers etc.

The Glock loader is simplicity itself, and it works just fine!

You'll be embarrassed when you figure out how simple and effective it is.

The "fin" in the loader moves the cartridge down so that the next cartridge can be started in the magazine's feed lips.

Raise the loader to slide the started cartridge all the way in.

Press down to start a new cartridge...

Raise to slide the started cartridge all the way in.

Repeat until loaded!

Work great, easy to carry, and they are cheap.

The .22 one works for both my Nylon 77 .22 mag and my Glock 26.

You are right, I didn't have an autowasher for my cute little white hat. Matter of fact I didn't wear white hats. But I find it interesting that the auto loader worked fine in the XD.
Also, my 30 years of service is not something I find to be humorous. I am a disabled veteran and I feel pain daily because of that service. Were you one of those who called me a baby killer when I came back from Viet Nam? It is a free country so feel free to take cheap shots.

If you do more talking than shooting, you don't need a mag loader.

Sir, with the Glock loader, the cartridges will only go in a tiny bit while pushing down on the loader.

This is as far as the cartridge will go in. Round 15 on a new mag required me to push the loader down with my palm:

If the cartridges won't stay put while lifting the loader up, could be there is too much material on the face of the depressor.

I've used my 1st gen G17 loader plenty. Filling the 17 round mags is a little tough on my tootsies. But it's starting to get a little beat up. It will work on my 9000s mags too. I hand load 2-3 rounds and then use the loader.

You just have to fiddle with it a bit to figure out the proper motion. It works just fine.

Press the loader down on the empty mag. Start to insert first round. The rear of the round will abut the part of the loader that depresses the mag follower. Lift the loader up and at the same time press the cartridge all the way back beneath the mag lips with your other hand. Round 1 is now loaded. Now depress that round down into the mag and insert the next one as far back as possible. Lift loader/press cartridge fully into place simultaneously. Repeat until fully loaded.

The purpose of a mag loader is to assist on the initial "push down" of the follower and give allowance to the cartridge. That's it.

So either, you're not allowing the cartridge to bypass the mag loader's "push down" thingy or you need someone to physically show you how to use the mag loader.

i agree get an uplula, they are awesome and they are well worth the money.

anyone that says you don't need one, obviously hasn't been to a training course, and had there thumbs blistered up from loading mags. For a day at the range it isn't needed but when there is alot of bullets to be loaded they are awesome to have. I just finished 4 days at tactical response without an uplula, and i will never do a training course or load another mag without the uplula ever again.

I never had any problems using the Glock loader and it wasn't really necessary for any of my 9mm but that G30 was a booger to get loaded without the loader.

I bought the Uplula before taking my first defensive pistol course and it was a lifesaver. The instructors would holler " reload mags,hydrate and get back on the line".
I could have loaded the mags by hand but the Uplula sure made it easier and faster.
