First off an introduction. I have been reading the forums for a long time, just never had a need to post till now. I'm a student in Arizona, and an avid hunter/fisher/shooter/archer... typical guy in a forum like this. Thanks to everyone for their contributions to this great forum.
I was just cleaning a Winchester model 1400 MkII. (Despite the guns mixed reputation, this one has performed flawlessly since around 1980, give or take a few years.) I removed the trigger assembly, and began to wipe some of the dust and gunk off, when I heard a small clink. There on my bench was a tiny little metal clip of some kind. It must have fallen out of the trigger assembly. I cannot for the life of me figure out where the little thing goes. I tested the trigger, hammer, safety, etc for function and everything seems fine. But regardless, I need to get that little clip in place before I can consider using the gun.
I've explored the interwebs for exploded views and takedown instructions and photos but cannot in any of them identify this piece. If anyone could identify it, or point me in a good direction, that would be very appreciated.
And hopefully the three included pictures work...
Thanks,
Jake
