He builds a very few per year. He is one of the most highly sought after gun smiths working today. He appears on just about everyones top 10 list of what 1911 you would want to own. He also does Hi Power modifications.
I have never seen one in person, but I have checked out many pictures of his work. It is indeed first rate and beautiful. All of this comes at a very high premium, his 1911's and Hi Powers are VERY expensive and scarce as hens teeth.
Last time I checked his waiting list for work was backed up 7 years. Your best bet would be to find one used or contact P&T partners (they sell high end custom and semi custom 1911's) and see if they ever get them in. You can check out Heinies web site at www.heinie.com

They are THAT nice....
I held them in person, and yes, they are THAT nice. I have owned, or still own guns[1911's] from WILSON, Ed Brown[earlier custom, not the current semi-custom] Les Baer, and a host of other one man shop guns like my current Jim Garthwaite gun. These pale by comparison to a full house Heinie, with only my Garthwaite gun coming close with the attention to detail.
I've been waiting to get my "Heinie" for quite some time now, and according to the tea leaves, signs of moon, and the ever optimistc Mr Heinie, my quest for 1911 pedrfection should be here sometime after the first of the year.

If you check his website...he has a couple of gun for sale..with sights, scalloping, magwells, etc. One is in 38 super and one in 45...
might be a quicker way to get hold of a gun made by Mr. Heinie..

Last I checked, his prices aren't that nuts compared to other pistolsmiths. The main thing is the wait.

I closely examined one in 10MM several years ago, and it was an outstanding example of the 1911. The checkering was flawless and the trigger was simply amazing.
He has four guns listed for sale..might be a quick way for someone thats wants a Heinie..wish I had some extra money around..
