Anyone remember Herters Powder? I have a couple of cans that have not been opened and am looking for a Herters powder manual so I can use it up. The powder is herters 100 and Herters 101.
As to collectors items, no kidding! I had an old Herters knife that I paid about $4 for in 1966. I put it on Ebay and it went for over $70. There are collectors out there who would probably pay you enough for that unopened powder to buy lots of fresh new powder you can use with confidence.
IIRC Herters 100-101 were rifle powders. Hert 162-164 were shotgun powders. I have a half full 1lb. can of 164, and about 2 pounds in a 8 pound keg of 162. Hadn't thought about it being collectable-------------- may have to start an e-bay account. Though I doubt they would let you sell that highly dangerous substance on their website!
When I bought this powder I was loading 7.5 Swiss and 22-250. I have other old powder so not sure what I was using the Herters for. I scanned the powder cans but so far don't know how to post them.

Whipple - could I get you to send me a nice high res scan? Something I can print for the wall of my "rec room?" The "screen resolution" shots won't print out that nice...
Clark if I knew what to compare my Herters powder with I could work up some loads with it. At one time I saw a Herters loading manual on e-bay but they wanted to much for it.
bogi I will try to get a better picture out to you. What happened to the picture I posted as I see its gone?
