Anyone ever heard of Herters 100 rifle powder. A friend of mine has a full 1 pound can of it. He thinks it could have some collectors value. If so would anyone have a number to put on it? I know Herters had decoys and traps and a few dozen other items at one time. Any info out there?

At one point Herter's had their own line of rifles, handguns, clothing, calls, boats,....EVERYTHING. In from from basic through the Deluxe Mark V Guide Model George L. Herter endorsed grades ! Their old catalogs are treasures. I still miss them. There is a new Herter's selling decoys from the original molds and other waterfowling related stuff. I am sure your powder has some collector value, but where to get the best exposure other than eBay I have no idea.

Back in the 70's wen I lived in MN I used to use Herter's powder and still may have a load data book somewhere in my boxes of stuff. It worked OK, really couldn't tell the difference between it and anything else I used. Bought lots of Herter's stuff back then, they sure had a great catalog.

Back in the early 70s I had some Herter's powder that I used to load a 222 with. I did not have good data on it and wondered why I had to drive the empties out with a cleaning rod. It is a wonder I didn't blow the gun up. I may still have that can of powder packed away somewhere.
