round count you have shot?

how many malfunctions?

anything broke?

how does it shoot cheap steel ammo? tula 115gr is my favorite.

i have heard the firing pin in high point carbines are weak and break. if yours broke, what was the round count?

I have a 995, and I don't know how many rounds have gone through it, but at least a few thousand. Nothing has broken and it loves Wolf and Tulammo steel case ammo. I have it in an ATI stock and put a cheap red dot sight on it. Lots of fun. Only issue seems to be mags. The original 10 rounders are fine, but the 15 round Pro-Mags have worked their way into trash. I have 2 of the new 20 round Red Ball mags and they seem ok for now.

Bought mine 04, got to be pushing 6k rounds, nothing ever broke, grandkids love it.
stay away from promags, the oems are only 10 rounds but work great and are relatively cheap.

I had one for a few years. Somewhere between one and two thousand rounds. No parts breakages. Only jammed once. That was with hollow point ammo and aftermarket mags. Factory mags were flawless. I don't know about cheap ammo, I fed mine reloads.

Had mine since 2005, round count: TONS no failures of any kind, factory mags, still running strong, chews through cheap ammo too.

I have had three of these over the past few years, and still have one in 40 S&W. I gave the 9mm to my brother and he loves it. The third one, or actually the first one that I bought, was a real beater. Someone had neglected this thing to the point where they actually knocked the front sight of it. It was sitting in my local dealers shop for $100. I had never owned one or, for that matter wanted one but, at $100, I couldn't resist. On the first outing with it I put 3-400 rounds through it just as fast as I could without a problem. My other 2 have been just as reliable and a lot of fun to shoot. You will spend many times the cost of the gun in ammo without a problem, I would bet.

I've had mine since 2009, and it's been flawless, and surprisingly accurate.
I had a 995TS but traded it off and have always regretted it.
I'll get another one

This is a great topic. Thank you bullseyebob for asking about the Hi-Point Carbine.

I became really interested in it earlier this year and researched it a lot. Based on the reviews (even Hickok45 likes it) the only serious complaint is the 10 round magazine. It seems it is so fun to shoot it is a bit of pain to have to stop to reload the magazines.

Despite looking for one for almost a year now in my area I; a) cannot find any used ones for sale and b) all of the new ones are selling for msrp. I think one in Woodlands Camo will be a nice break from my other black rifles.

I've had one in 40 S&W for about a year now, totally reliable, about 1000 rounds through it. Its a fun blaster at the range, the 40 cal is a real thumper, 1500 fps on 165 grain FMJ's.

I bought 5 mags for mine, load them all up before I go out.

I had one of the earlier models. It was used and the previous owner didn't lube it properly and the ZAMAC receiver was ground down so much it was INOP.

Beemiller repaired it and sent it back having replaced pretty much everything. Unfortunately the barrel headspace was misaligned and I had to send it back again.

A year later the safety snapped off and it was sent in again. The gun wouldn't even fire in that condition.

Another few months later a piece of steel or ZAMAC broke off the bolt and I finally had enough and sold it once it came back.

I sincerely hope the newer models are made better. I didn't want to gamble with similar issues and bought a Beretta.

I've shot 1-2K rounds thru my model 995 with only one trouble. No matter how much I clean it and wipe it down, it is still ugly. Need to find a modern looking stock for it.

I got mine used in '99. Probably 6 or 7k rounds through. Only functioning problems I've had were due to those crap 15rd Promags. I've heard the newer manufacture ones work fine, but I'm not going to chance it. I got a couple of the new Red Ball 20rd mags and have worked out fine so far.

Only breakage I've had was the rear sight assembly. And that was due to a full ammo can falling on it. The factory sent me a new one free of charge.

It has proven more accurate than it has any right to be.

My brother bought one say 14 years ago for range fun with the kids they have shot many thousands of rounds with it and its still going surprised me for the price its been a good rifle in 9mm

Thanks Razor- I need one of those. My 995 is so ugly, I have to fight the clip to get it inserted in the gun.
No telling how much they will charge for the face lift. At least my ammo will no longer be ashamed!:D
