i actually got a hold of them last week (finally), and i'm shipping it to them next week. my brother gave me the gun about a year ago, because he moved to NYC, and obviouly couldn't take it with him. i've taken it to the range quite a few times, cussed it out, taken it home, cleaned it, tried to shoot it again. so, yeah, more than one mag. hopefully, they'll get the issue resolved. you were right; i was calling during their off hours. and yes, she is a nice lady. and, no, i took no offense to your comment, but don't be so quick to cast doubts on other posters.;)

You problem may be that you keep cleaning the gun.;)Cleaning every thousand rounds is just about overkill. These are not expensive guns that need to be clean in order to work reliably.

I do not shoot my HP very much anymore. I have too many guns and too little time. I just clean them once every five years or so.

They may have a great warranty, they may have even better customer service, but if the gun doesn't work when you need it, a warranty does you no good.

The only reason why I would pick one up is a car gun. If for some reason my car gets broken into, I'm only out 120 bucks instead of $500+.

I had a 40 cal pistol and thought it was absolute junk. It jammed enough to be unreliable. Big, clunky, heavy jammomatic POS. I sold it for $100 with an extra mag and a box of 50 Win Ranger-Ts, and I have no regrets in doing so.
I can barely stand my borderline POS Kel-tec P-11,so use that as a gauge. I like guns that have decent triggers(which the hi-point does have but the kel-tec doesnt) and dont jam once every other mag. I'm kinda funny like that.

If Wal-Mart ever came out with a brand of guns, they would be Hi-point clones and probably be of even better quality.

I'd look at a used ruger which is light years ahead quality wise.
