HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

I bought one used

and it looked to have 100-200 rounds through it. I paid $549 .. I would not say that its worth hundreds of dollars more than some of the competition. But for the $549 I paid I will take it over most others.. It feels great in the hand..

I'm not normally such a fan of such guns. Well, let me clarify that better. The S&W seemed to "mushy" when I held it. Seemed to have too much give. The xd, which I really wanted to like, is alright but I don't like the feeling of the trigger, granted the last one I shot was a compact but it just didn't hold right in my hand. Glock? eh. That gun however..... that felt nice. Lined up great, felt great in my hand, looks kinda neat. Awesome tool right there. Haven't got to shoot one, though I doubt I'd like it better than my... 1911 :)

2footroper

I too had trouble with the hk sights, at first. After a while I finally got it that the front post covers the target, not like the Smith and Wesson "pumpkin on a fence post" picture. Now I amaze myself compared to what I used to shoot like.
I LOVE MY P30. I never have a failure of anykind, even after many hundreds of rounds and no cleaning. I like the decock location. The trigger is just fine for my needs. I have had mine about 5 months now and I can't wait to shoot it again.

i got mine new for $900..i know the price was high, but falling in love always is:banghead:...i have no regrets, i've engaged in some shooting "procedures" that would have got me kicked of the range (had i got caught):neener: trying to malfunction this gun and i have yet to do so after 500 + rounds...and since i'm left-handed....well, need i say more:rolleyes:

Thanks...

Thanks for the very detailed and informative review... and great pics. Maybe THR can get you to do this kind of in-depth review on a regular basis... I'm sure alot of readers appreciate it!

Just Bought One - Background Check Problems

I bought a new one with night sights for $750 at a gun show in Las Vegas 10 days ago. Unfortunately I'm still waiting to take possession. First my NICS came back delayed and now after 10 days it's at “unresolved”. The FFL says I can pick the gun up on the 10th. Last year I bought a 1911 in California and had no problem. I’m just as felony free as I was then and have no other black marks either… Anyway, does anyone have any experience with this??I’m getting pissed because there is absolutely no reason that I shouldn’t have passed right away. Grrrrrrrrr

Thanks,
Joe

That blows

Sorry to hear about your issues ProblemChild, but am curious to what kind of night sights you got. I've been very interested in the P30 as CCW piece, but it was my understanding you can't get night sights because of the restriction on radioactive elements in Germany, and I won't carry without them. I was told that US made night sights for the P30 are still in the R&D phase...are yours self illuminating or just the green reflectors that HK uses? Good luck getting your piece.

Well I spent all of 10 minutes with the gun so I cant tell you specifics about the sights. Hopefully I will get cleared so I can pick it up sooner. I'm pretty sure they are the radioactive ones, bright green glow. I'll have details soon :fire:

Anyone ever been "unresolved"??
