I have a DSA FAL and a Armalite AR-10, I could easily sell every other long rifle I own except these two and be perfectly content.

I have a PTR91 and three M1A Spring Inc. rifles.
Recently sold my Saiga .308 because I shot up all my Chinese steel case ammo!

Let me be clear that I'm an M14 fan through and through.

I do enjoy my HK's and just like the M14 the longer I handle them, over 20 years now, the better they seem to handle.

I can't see spending much over 500 bucks for a gun wiether I'm rich or I'm poor.

Several decent guns under $500...but you will be missing out on dozens (hundreds?) of guns that will give years of joy.

Just think, a life without

ARs
FALs
M1As
HKs
Garands
FNs
Galils
1903s
Many of the better Mausers
Krags
Trapdoors
Sharps
1873s
1886s
M1 Carbines
Steyrs
Barretts
and on and on

Hardly a life worth living ;)

But seriously, focusing on <$500 guns will give you many years of enjoyment.

Ha ha. I think the problem with my gun is either in the magazine, the spring for the bolt or something to do with the bolt. It's very very hard to get that bolt cocked back. I just had the gun apart today and yesturday. I got that jammed case out and cleaned the whole gun up. It ejected no problem when I moved the bolt by hand. Maybe the bolt spring is just way to stiff in it. Maybe that's why the bolt is so hard to move. I don't know. That's my best guess tough. I plan on trying to shoot 1 round out of the magazine. Just load 1 in and see what it does. If that bolt spring is the problem then that gun isn't going to eject the spent case. We shall see.

Just tested my gun. I shot 1 round from the magazine. All I had was 1 round in the mag. The gun fired but still would not eject the case. I think the slide is not moving on it after I pulled the trigger and it fires. This time I could manually get the slide to move back and get the case out. Last time I had to feild strip it to get the spent case out. I gotta send it back to the factory for sure now. I cleaned it all up and it still wouldn't move the slide to eject the spent case. :banghead:

Opoche I like your black ak. Send it to me. Lol.

Old Ban era Arsenal SLR-105
Definitely not a 7.62, but that was the only pic I had on my pc with the Saiga in it.
Plan on getting similar furniture for the Saiga (if for no other reason than to get a NATO length stock), but money is tight and I had an old Bulgy set laying around.

How do you like the KVAR furniture PAPACHUCK?
I desperately need to replace mine.

A stock ak saiga in 308 with a 22 inch barrel is like a mega cheap m1a.

I was digging around online and seen on one forum that a guy bought a cetme like I did and had the same problem as me and he sent it back to century. Every new gun they sent him did not eject. On the third gun they sent him he kept it and took it to a gun smith. After seeing that post I do not trust Century one bit. I doubt if I will ever send my gun back. I just can't trust century after what I've been through and what I've heard about them. I can't believe people still buy their guns and they are still in business.

I ended up calling the gun shop today that sold me that rifle. The salesman said to bring it in and the gunsmith will look at it. So I dropped it off today. 2 different salesmen there couldn't believe what that gun did to my ammo cases. One of them thought something is to tight on that gun. I was told the gun smith will look at it next week.

Thanks for posting those salvo. 2? I counted 3. Lol. Nice toys you have there.

As long as we are woundering.

15guns, if you have not already, go to www.militaryfirearm.com - they will help you out with your cetme, very good forum for cetme/g3 related stuff.

The guns I have are Century builds. I have a G3 and a L1A1. I've been lucky with all my Century guns. These two have been great guns. I have had no issues with them. Of course I also have a Springfield M1A.

At some point I want a 308 AR like a DPMS or Armalite

My little FAL:

One day it will have a little brother... about 5 inches littler.
