Well I'm looking at adding another Firearms to my ever expanding collection, and need your opinions. I reload so ammunition for these is not a problem. I have a decent C&R collection, im just trying to get some opinions from other people out there about what I should add to the collection next.

I am considering between a:

CZ 82 in 9x18 Makarov

Swiss K-31 (I already have 2 but I love those damn things)

Un-Peened K98 RC German Mauser

Saiga .223

Yugoslavian 24/47

British Enfield .303

Enfield all the way! Beautiful rifle, great round, good shooter. Well if ya get a good one! haha.

I have an Enfield...
Love at first sight, man.
Rounds are expensive... but it's a great gun.
Cycles fast as Hell.

I voted un-peened Mauser for collectibility.

I'd vote Saiga for blasting away fun factor and the chance it could be banned or otherwise become unavailable.

I confess I don't know what a Yugo 24/47 is. I guess you're listing it as a Mauser. I've heard/read that Yugo Mausers aren't nearly as well made as German Mausers.

Go for the assault rifles now, as the Dems are planning to do another assault weapons ban if they get a Dem in the white house. You can't buy what they ban. That said, if I were getting a Saiga, I'd go .308 or 7.62 X 39 instead of .223.

Regards,

Dave

That said, if I were getting a Saiga, I'd go .308 or 7.62 X 39 instead of .223.
if a dem does get into the white house, the price of ammo will jump quite a bit. and foreign import of 'x39 may be cut off, while domestic .223 won't...

i voted sagia for fun and reliability
:)

IF you already have an AR/AK/SKS, I'd say the mauser or the enfield since you said "collection".

If you DON'T have an AR/AK/SKS, given the current political climate, I'd say 223 saiga, no question.

Yeow, that's like saying you want supper and your range is McDonalds, Ruth's Chris, Taco Bell, and Rugi's Indian Cuisine. There is very little relation between any of these choices it really depends on what really suits your interest. They all have pros and cons, yet the pros and cons are so different from each other that a comparison is impossible.

But that is not to condemn your choices, merely to say there is no way I could even begin to make a suggestion. In any case, you have a very competent list and anything from that list would make a fine addition to any number of collections.

A little bit of an update of what I own.

I am really just trying to find something that adds something to my collection

I have 1 Yugoslavian SKS in 7.62x39mm

1 Yugo Capture K98 (most markings gone)

Benelli 12 gauge

Springfield XD 9mm

Colt .22 pistol

Ruger GP100 .357 MAG

2 Swiss K-31's

1 Mosin Nagant

1 Savage .308

Ruger 10/22

Saiga .223, its the only one you might not be able to buy in six months or so. I'd suggest getting some of the 12/13 round CZ 82/83 magazines while you can, you can probably still get the pistol later.

Bushmaster: Something new or American cost too much for my modest amount of money I have to spend at this time. But If you have a suggestion for something under $400 go ahead.

I realize that it wasn't American made, but I did pick up a brand new Browning .30-06 A-bolt for $376. It was a demonstrater on the shelf and had a couple of scratches. It has a lot more scratches now.

You might also look at the used rack in your local gun store...
