If you could have one automatic weapon from any period in history that could be yours. What would you choose and why? Pretend a Genie was there so you didnt have to pay for it, so money is not an option. Also doesn't matter if it is one that was ever imported as this is just for fun.

Id take a M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle, affectionately known as the BAR. 20 round mag of .30-06 power, oozing with history, and well, its just nice to look at!

For a nice collection, I'd like the weapon of every assassination of every historical figure/politician/leader/famous dictator/evil or good leader out there. From the gun used in the Kennedy assassination to Hitler's PPK. I'd want them all.

I would want the Thompson Sub-machine gun with the 30 round stick magazine.

Sgt. Saunders (google Vic Morrow for you youngsters) had one and mowed 'em down with it. If it was good enough for him, it is good enough for me!

In my wettest dreams I have one.

Wow, the BAR? No thanks, big flash. It was a favorite of Clyde Barrow though. Oozing with history 'tis....

Hmm, let's see.

What do I want?

Let's go with a PPSH...

And I'll take a pair of CZ-52's to boot.

(Honestly I don't care too much about full auto. It's just not my bag)

[EDIT] Wait....is it too late? Is the Vulcan 20mm allowed?

Full auto is just for fun, AFAIC. I'd want something inexpensive to shoot, with a high cyclic rate.

A Glock 18 comes to mind first, with the clip-on stock and a good supply of 33round stick mags.

The ultimate might be a .22lr minigun... something like this:

Now don't tell me that doesn't look like FUN!

Toss up between a MAG-58, M2HB, and Maxim.

MAG-58 is the most useful, IMHO. M2 would be great fun, very effective, and still relatively cheap to shoot. Maxim just because I love WW1 water-cooled's.

If I can have only one, a full auto, fully legal, AR lower. Lots of fun things to slap on top of it from 22 LR to 50 Beo. :D

If it had to be a complete unchanging gun I fed, it would be a full auto, suppressed, SBR, folding stock 10/22. Ultimate home defense gun as stated by another THR member years ago and I'd have to agree.

If the genie supplies unlimited spare parts and ammo, there really is only one gun to consider. The GAU-8/A Avenger. The gun that had an aircraft built around it. I'd settle for the steel recievered non "A" variant too ;)

a saw that was a little more reliable than they are normally known to be, if i could get a m249 saw that was as reliable as say the m240b i would be in heaven!

For coolness factor, a Sig552.

For fun, an M16 lower would be the ticket. So versatile, so many calibers, so many options. Nothing even comes close.
