I was at the range a couple of weeks ago and someone let me shoot their G19 with a red dot. It was the first time I’ve seen one for a pistol with a Chevron reticle. Anyone know what it was? I didn’t ask the model. The Chevron might be a good option to get around my astigmatism.

Yes that looks like it. It shot very well for me and the owner. He was shooting one handed out to 25 yards and hitting a sheet of typing paper.

That primary arms chevron + circle-bigger-than-fov is the best maybe-gimmick I've seen in a long time. The chevron is the least important part of that setup, though, in my opinion.

You really have to try one to understand how nice the hidden circle is. The majority of people who claim they train enough to not ever lose the dot at arms length on a handgun RDS are liars.

I have a tube type red dot in my Victory pistol. I loose the dot pretty regularly and I shoot it about every weekend.

Does the Holosun fit the smaller plates or have a model that will? I have a Canik Mete SFX and it uses the Shield size plates.

I just put the 507K with the circle dot on my 365XL. Best thing I ever did after fighting using dots for years. I pretty much leave it on just the dot function and I love the shake awake for bedside use. Darn fine carry weapon now with dot compatible holster and I still carry the same way...

I prefer a circle dot reticle over a chevron reticle. Chevron reticles just don't work for me with how my eye sight is. I have a few open micro dots and tube type dot sights with circle dot reticles and like them. I have one on my Mossberg Shockwave, 4.5" AR22 pistol, and my Kel-Tec CP33. The circle makes it easier to line up on a target faster while the dot allows for more precise aiming.

Same boat. I shoot regularly and can also regularly lose a handgun RDS dot.

Note that the Primary Arms custom-reticle holosun is NOT a circle dot in the traditional sense. The circle in the Primary sight is bigger than FOV. This is the main feature. I personally think it's revolutionary.

The main issue with "details" like chevrons and circle dots is they tend to attract your focus to their image which is counterproductive to using a red dot effectively, you have to look "thru" the dot and focus on the target. I do like circle dots because they are so easy to pick up but chevrons and triangles tend to draw my focus to them so I find them harder to use.

For now my Canik is serving as a target pistol, so distractions by the Chevron aren’t a problem. However I see what you mean.
