hello this is my first post on the site and i too have been searching for a location to share the items i have made an the ideas i have. i already have a few swords made, some shields,throwing axe, throwing stars an a few other items on the go.

I really like the big sword on your shoulder, looks like there has been some Final Fantasy influence.

Your 1-handed sword (looks like a hand-and-a-half, bastard sword to me), are you going to grind and polish the blade? Also, be careful of the 2 spikes on the pommel; I can see it being a good counterbalance, but you can do yourself a lot of harm if you lose track of it while swinging. Also, if it were a real combat weapon, an opponent could rush your sword by locking onto the hilt and make you impale yourself.

New, and would like some starter ideas

My name is Devon. I justcame across this group today!!! I LOVE IT... ive made a few weapons, but they were poor, like a hammer handlewith nails though it, and 2 golf balls wrapped in leather, then eletrical tape, then put on each ned of 1in. peive of PVC pipe. Then I attached a rope, and then attached it to a metal pole!!! Well I said they were poor. I was looking for some started ideas... I have a dremel set with the grinding peices, ect. But no access to a ''work shop'' just some stuff I can make with materials around the house, or woods!

About a decade ago when I was in high school a friend of mine who was a little scrappy guy was beaten up by a guy who was much bigger. Little guy is about 135 and big guy is 240.

The little guy takes an 18 inch dowel rod and screws and 18 inch length of chain with 4 skateboard wheels on the end. He waited on the big guy as he walked to the bus stop and wailed on him. The big guy stopped messing with people smaller than him.

Also if you take a trip to walmart a 24" piece of garden hose plugged up with JB weld and duct tape then filled with BB's makes a pretty good weapon. If you just want to stun them but not kill them fill it with cat litter or sand.

For a bit in the 80's I worked/ lived in the San Bernardino, Riverside area of So. Cal. I was in lots of not so good areas plenty. I got me a old Toyota FJ40 with a 1/4" C channel front bumper, it did come in handy a time or two. Went to the Second hand store and bought a kitchen knife with a 12" blade and had it at the handy everywhere I went. I figured not much lost if stolen or lost and was a dangerous as I needed up close to my car door. Had me a Chow dog along lots that would eat your hand if you put it within reach. I had another item along plenty but of dubious legalities so not mentioned here. A can of starter fluid is or should be legal in your car everywhere you go, and it's as good or better than pepper spray. Baseball bats are too just have a glove and ball along. I escaped safe and sound I feel safe where I live now and all I have is a small pocket knife along. Just be careful out there.

I'd suggest if you want to know about improvised weapons, ask someone who's worked in a prison.

Razor blades in toothbrush handles, billiard ball (or small tin of baked beans) in a sock, ever seen a push dagger made out of a T Bone steak?

Pool ball / random hard object in a sock is one of the great improvised weapons of all time. Unless you've been busted one with a flail before, it's hard to imagine just how much power comes out of that mechanical advantage.

More in the way of "fun" homemade stuff, like the other posters here I've made my share of tennis ball / spud guns. We always used a 2-3'' piece of RMC rather than improvising a tube from cans however, allows for a MUCH heavier charge of your propellant of choice.

Reguarding Spud Guns

How hard wouldit be to rig a Paintball CO2 bottle to a pvc pipe to make a mortar? What about fitting a length of pipe over the barrell, turning up the air flow to max, and presto? Im guessing the gun could be gutted, but that would be time staking, and not going to do much.. Maybe 20 yards!!! A kitchen torch, and a hopper full of smoke bombs with really easy to light fuse... hold the blowtorch in front of the barrel, and shoot to your heart desire? Just some stupid thoughts but a good basis!

You make a small hole in the tennis ball. ??????????????????????????????? We used to do it when we were kids. Nothing to spectacular but when its done right in can be effective even if it is extremely unstable.

match heads work better than sticks. Aluminum shavings for effect. Not really dangerous unless you do it around dry grass. It doesn't explode in the hand grenade sense.

Basically you just cutting off the ''heads'' on the matches...... I can see why you would want to add the metal shavings.Ha I have it, why not fill come tennis balls with ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? How long before message boards such as these are shut down due to govermentfear of excersing our right to overthrow the government when we believe it needs to be done? Trueblue, I do live in the woods.. And whereI live puts the gives the term redneck a whole new defintion..... But I wouldnt really like to try it out... Im just saying if I lived in some middle eastern country, I would b making those T.B. Bobms all day long! But I dont plan on making anything like that, unless I have a mice big open feild, and a concrete wall to hide behind... But when you mix melted rubber, gunpowder and flying scrapnel.
