While im not one to have complaints about more new cartridges being available, for me its a solid ....meh....
Now if they legitimized the 6.5/300wsm or used a lengthened RCM case what might interest me.

Very similar to the 6.5 SAUM/4S that has gained some momentum in, I believe GAP, rifles. The funny thing is that leaks mentioning this cartridge were out last year, I'm not sure what took them so long to announce it. If you have one of a few very specific uses, it might be just the thing, but I think for most people the Creed is going to be more in the sweet spot of power/trajectory/recoil/powder usage/recoil, etc than the PRC.

About 200 fps faster than the 6.5 Creedmoor, but still 300 fps slower than the 26 Nosler. I'm sure it will appeal to a lot of shooters, but I've found that the moderate speeds, low recoil and compact rifles in 308 class cartridges including the 260 and 6.5 Creedmoor make for a more balanced option. And that class of cartridges takes me farther than I have the skills to shoot.

Hornady engineer A: You know what I was thinkin?

Hornady engineer B: What?

Hornady engineer A: I was thinkin' the world needs a short 6.5-06 with a magnum boltface and proprietary case dimensions that nobody makes brass or dies or rifles for.

Hornady Engineer B: omg, love it. L-O-U-E-V-E, love it.

'member the WSSMs? 'member the 30 TC? Hell, even the RSAUMs, RCMs and WSMs can be hard to find brass for.

But hey, it's 6.5mm.

Exactly. This cartridge was in the wind over a year ago and it's nothing new. My gf has had a rifle chambered in 6.5 SAM for a number of years now. The cartridge is a necked down .300 Rem SAUM. She also has a .375 SAM which is a blown out .300 Rem SAUM.

I'm happy with my 6.5 Grendel (aka diet 6.5mm). Even this lowest of velocity 6.5 cartridges is capable of shooting 1,000 yards, so this new PRC round seems like overkill to me.

At least it's legitimately a leg up on the Creedmore..............
My GAWD!!! I'm glad Jack O'Connor is gone, the 6.5 Creedmore is the new "do anything, do it all, flat-shooting, can't miss" .270 Winchester. Jack would've cried foul!
By all accounts we must all throw our .308 Win's into the volcano since the Holy 6.5 Creedmore showed up! (Plus your 6.5x55 Swedes, 7mm-08's, .260 Rem etc)

Georgia Precision. Top notch rifle smith when you need the good stuff.

I know this post has some age on it, but GAP is NOT “Georgia Precision.”

It’s Gnat’s Ass Precision, by George Gardner, out of Kansas City KS. Really good guy, salt of the earth, really good company, really good rifles.
