Here's my set up...

Off the Press
  • Deprime Fired Cases on a single stage using a Lee Universal Decapping Die
  • Wet tumble the brass, which cleans them thoroughly, even the primer pockets
  • Resize on a single stage press, inspecting the cases - Lee Die
  • Hand prime - RCBS Hand priming tool
On the Press
  • Expand - Lee Die
  • Drop powder - Lee Die
  • Powder Checker Die - RCBS Die
  • Seat Bullets - Lee Die
  • Crimp using a Lee FCD
This may seem like a lot of steps but I can reload about 200 per hour, going slow and steady, which works fine for me. I do have a case feeder on the press and at times use a custom bullet feeder. All ammunition is consistent, very high quality and better than factory...

re: the Hornady seat/crimp die. I guess I'm just too stupid to make it work. I about pulled my hair out trying to get it set up and just gave up. It wasn't worth it.
I haven’t had any luck seating and crimping in the same step.

I seat and crimp in one step with plated and jacketed. Two steps with lead.
Plated bullets
1st pass is deprime with universal RCBS depriming die.
ultrasonic clean brass
2nd pass, resize, M-die, powder, Hornady powder check die, seat and crimp.

Jacket w/bullet feeder
1st pass, deprime
Ultrasonic clean brass
2nd pass, resize, powder w/ptx, Hornady powder check die, bullet feeder, seat/crimp.
I don't like Hornady's PTX because it sticks on the cases and doesn't work nearly as good as the Lyman M-die profile.

Lead
1st pass deprime
ultrasonic clean brass
2nd pass: resize, M-die, Hornady powder check die, seat, then crimp.

One thing I want to say about Hornady's powder check die for the control panal. I really like it but it doesn't work for .32 cal cases very well. The plunger in it is too close to the inside dia of a .32 case and catches on the mouth. Above 32 caliber it works great. Just thought I'd throw that in.
